Re: Skirts on the F1 Grid?

A rough calculation shows that just to power the cars and vans in the UK would require a third as much electrical energy again as we use at present.  As for heavy transport, nobody's even considering that. That sounds about right. The estimate here is that to electrify everything will require aroun...

Re: Corona Virus

Mostly unvaccinated people from the Biblebelt. They don't want the vaccin, they don't trust the government I thought you were in the Netherlands, not the USA. What you describe sounds like what we have where I live. :( The north of the Netherlands is traditionally Protestant. The south is tradition...

Re: Breaking the Gender Binary with Rob Smith | Rob Smith | TEDxCMU

What's wrong with feminine? For me, not so much. For my SO, yes. It's useful so I don't really care how it looks. I'm a function-over-form kind of person. Well, if the wife is complaining about it then I can certainly understand your comment. Perhaps you should ask her "what's wrong with feminine?"...

My SO gave me a handbag a couple of years ago. It's black square thing with a strap over the shoulder strap so doesn't appear feminine in any way. What's wrong with feminine? For me, not so much. Re: Here's to the "doers".

The concept of pay and value are interesting parameters. Pay as a 'value' to the business seems to be a concession of capitalism and 'bottom-line-thinking' that has led to a great deal of exploitation. I guess it depends on how you look at it. It's the people at the bottom level that are doing all ...

Re: Here's to the "doers".

I hope he received a promotion I hope not, this sounds like a guy who is in exactly the right place. I think he be paid appropriately. It's bad if the only way to get a pay rise is to move to doing something you're not good at. See also the Peter Principle. I'm actually happy that at my workplace w...

Re: Corona Virus

This is one of the problems with influenza and which causes much confusion about what's going on. There are likely well over a dozen strains of it, each of which is genetically different enough that one vaccine cannot target all at once. It was explained to me as follows. In the tree of life the vi...

My SO gave me a handbag a couple of years ago. It's black square thing with a strap over the shoulder strap so doesn't appear feminine in any way. I use it a lot in the summer (in the winter I have a jacket with 6 large pockets). When international I like it because it's large enough to hold the (ai...

Re: Corona Virus

Two additional thoughts: 1- If you look at the method being used by governments in order to get you jabbed, isn't that in essence the same method - F.U.D. - of which I'm being accused? If by this you mean things like: * requiring either a vaccination or a negative test to go to the cinema, football...

Re: Clothes that Unite Us

I thought the thread title was 'Clothes that unite us' For the life of me I cannot see how discussing outsize bra sizes has anything to do with it. Sorry, my fault, I've made the link somewhat less prominent. To try to bring it all back on topic, I agree that that most types of clothing are worn by...

Re: Corona Virus

this might more in your line: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwR7natWqLk I want my 15 minutes back. It's literally someone demonstrating that the vaccine affects the immune system. Well duh, that's what it's supposed to do. If he wanted to make a point he'd: * use a sample size greater than one * ...

Or perhaps they can't find the right size on the rack:

Link

Sure, it's a survey in a group that's going to attract people with hard to find sizes, but I don't doubt the problem is real.

Re: Corona Virus

I've noticed in the media lately a change in tack over the covid virus from vaccine research to alleviation of symptoms. Producing drugs that ensure, after contracting covid, survival, the interval between contacting and relief shortened and the effects lessened. Thus being able to halve the time t...

Re: Teenager wearing a dress harassed by inbred Tennessee hillbilly

If a pregnant woman is killed, it's treated as a double homicide. In America, yes. Other places, no. It varies. A cat is not human. Cows are not human. An unborn child, foetus, zygote, etc. is a human being. An extremely young, extremely vulnerable, and completely innocent human being. This is not ...
