Re: Wrap Skirt Recommendations

I took delivery of a couple of RipSkirts on Friday. These are for me, but I also hope they might inspire my father-in-law. I must say that I am rather pleased with them. The tactile feel of fabric is quite an important part of the joy of wearing a skirt for me, and these feel very nice. Soft and sil...

Re: Wrap Skirt Recommendations

My thoughts on a kilt, while it is a wrap skirt. The pleats eventually become a literal pain in the butt. If you do alot of sitting eventually pleats will hurt. Thank you so much for your thoughts. There pleats were a concern for me also -- it was just a convenient place to start given that I had v...

Re: Wrap Skirt Recommendations

I’ll second (third?) the recommendation for a custom wrap skirt. Many/most wrap skirts out there will either have snaps or buttons if they are true wrap skirts - and will only fit a limited number of sizes and be just a bit cumbersome to put on. That’s assuming you can find a true wrap skirt, most ...

Re: Wrap Skirt Recommendations

Your Dad sounds like a cool dude, I doubt mine would have been open to the idea of wearing a skirt of any kind including a Kilt. Thanks Stevie. Oh ... he didn't come to this idea readily. He even seems a bit uncomfortable that he sits down to pee these days -- "peeing like a lady". But ol...

Re: Wrap Skirt Recommendations

I'm heavily into wrap skirts and apart from a few Sportkilts I have had some made up by a crowd called Cr0ssdresserNL. I attach three examples, all fastened by velcro on the Mens' side and made to my measurements so they're on or off in a flash and very modest/demure into the bargain. Hi Tom, Those...

Wrap Skirt Recommendations

Hello All, I am hoping for some tips from the collected expertise of the SkirtCafe hive. My 88 year old father-in-law is struggling with getting his pants on and off. He insists on taking his pants off every time he goes to the washroom (don't ask!), and then spends 10-15 minutes struggling to put h...

Mountain Hardwear Mountain Kilts / Skirts

I recall a post a while back where someone was looking to buy one of the Mountain Hardwear Mountain Kilts. The original (wrap skirt) style was discontinued despite being popular, and was replaced by the Elkcommando which is slightly more kilt looking. If anyone was looking for one, there is a guy ov...

Re: Can anyone identify this MUG?

Hello SkirtScot, An easy one for me, perhaps, because I used to own a couple of Utilikilts. That said, there are a few similar garments from other companies, but this does have all the hallmarks of a classic Utilikilt. Thank you for the link to the choir. They look quite amusing. I have bookmarked t...

Problem - cannot use search

Good afternoon. Now that I am back 'on the scene' I've been making up for lost time by clicking every link I can find. I am quite enjoying myself, I must say. Lots of exploits to catch up on. What I am finding, however, is that I keep experiencing a Sorry but you cannot use search at this time. Plea...

Introduction.

Good afternoon. It is perhaps polite for me to offer a brief introduction. I'm Charles. I used to lurk around Tom's Cafe many years ago. I understand that Skirt Cafe is the replacement for Tom's Cafe. Greetings to any veterans from those old days, and hello to all the more recent members! I did make...

Re: UtilityKilt Vs AmeriKilt

Hello, I have owned two Utilikilts over the years. I can speak to the high quality of their construction, and the excellent service provided by the fine team at Utilikilts. Alas, the garments never looked as good on my misshapen frame as the did on the handsome fellows on the website. This, however,...

Re: Can anyone identify this MUG?

Hello SkirtyScot,

If I am not mistaken, that looks like a black Utilikilt.
