Re: Pretty Skirts?

You don't call a man or boy "pretty" because that is too closely associated with femininity. IIRC the term "pretty boy" is fairly derogatory, at least in the past, probably implying gay or at least effeminate. Personally I'm not sure about wearing more flowery items. Sometimes I...

Re: International Men Can Wear Dresses Day

Unfortunately 15th May is our wedding anniversary and since my wife is "uncomfortable" with me wearing anything from the other aisle (despite her mostly wearing trousers and, as she's small, often "boy's" "leisure wear") I'm unlikely to be able to participate without ca...

Re: So my wife got me a handbag for Christmas….

If it's of any interest I got one of these a while back: https://www.mobilefun.co.uk/olixar-tactical-edc-multipurpose-universal-travel-bag-with-phone-pouch-shoulder-strap-belt-clip-85497 It's a bit bigger than a phone and has 2 compartments which nicely hold my wallet, a coin bag, some other cards a...

You're forgetting Fallon Sherrock who did well in professional darts events recently.

Re: Converse unisex platform shoes/heels

I'd like to see anyone play basketball in those Converse, although I guess they get you closer to the hoop? Just curious about the suggest of 2 sizes difference depending on your sex - is that what people generally find? When I've bought shoes/boots from "the other aisle" they've been arou...

Re: David Tennant presenting BAFTA Film Awards in a Kilt

David Tennant is Scottish and wearing a kilt for a formal occasion is no big deal. For some reason he changed into trousers half-way through the show. I'm aware of where David is from. You just don't see Kilts on TV that often. It's a very smart, non-clan kilt, worn with modern boots. He may have c...

David Tennant presenting BAFTA Film Awards in a Kilt

Surprised no-one has mentioned this yet. Caught a brief glimpse but didn't watch it all. Saw enough to see DT in a Kilt though at the start.

Not wanting to tell the mods how to do their job but shouldn't some of this thread be moved into a topic about members' love lives?? ;-)

Re: Interesting old (oct 2020) Mumsnet forum, mainly about Mark Bryan

I think folks are missing my point about SMS. To me, it's been nothing but a source of unwelcome interrupts, and recently, considerable grief and distress. Thus I want to completely disable it. That would be a big problem in the UK given how many web sites (especially but not limited to banking sit...

If your mobile runs Android, investigate the Do not Disturb feature. This will set the phone not to alert you about most stuff between certain hours that you set. (I'd imagine iThings have a similar feature.)

Re: Gender Neutral Fashion is failing skirt-wearing boys

Bear in mind that when Stu says "However, for everyday clothing, maybe it's not a bad idea to maintain certain external appearances that are unequivocally boy or girl, especially when it comes to older children." this will be partly because he like to impose his choice of pronouns on peopl...
