Re: Eddie Lizard
Yes. I say informally to friends etc, I'm having a fashion day. They know what I mean. Is that like having a bad hair day, but looking good during it? ;) The clothes are more important than the hair lol. My hair always looks a mess or it has since the Pandemic. Something to do with self cutting wit...

Re: Plus size skirts
I don't know how extensive their sizing goes - and the styles may be too frumpy - but Seasalt Cornwall has a large size range, and can be bought for cheap on eBay if you know what you want/need. Loving the word ‘frumpy’ !! To try and help, I'd just say go to the big stores and even if they don't ha...

Re: Adding a lining to a skirt
I think that part of the reason for adding a trim to the hem of the slip is to provide a finished edge that looks decorative. The only alternatives being to turn up the hem and sew it ( not really viable due to the soft, silky or nylon material that slips are made from ) or to serge the hem which i...

Re: What feminine items do you wear?
I do like a nice dress, even in brighter colours tho I prefer navy. Nicely lined and with some 'female' embellishment is fine by me. I really like the idea of tights but rarely wear them. But the cool feeling of pantyhose against a lined skirt is nice. I sometimes borrow my wife's shoes as we have e...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large
I decided to go to next this evening to try on a couple of dresses. I’ve yet to find a dress I like, and the best way is to try them on in store. So, there was the conundrum of what to wear, but I was in the mood to be skirted and I pulled out my beautiful Monsoon chocolate brown suede skirt that h...

Re: Hi everyone
Pete you are fast becoming an ambassador for skirt wearing to the office. (Where office working still exists.) I was amazed and impressed to read your account. The word bravery springs to mind. Me? I just can't do it, I kind of mince about at home with the odd 'try on' just to prove to myself I'm st...

Re: Why do mens kilts have to look so masculine
Hillaryskirt, I must confess that I don't recall seeing this thread before. Oddly, the answer lies in its very title. I would advocate great caution in asking that question. The Kilt Police would certainly take an unhealthy interest in the answer. Steve. Thanks, Steve. I've only just seen this, 5 m...

Re: what to wear underneath?
I was under the impression that on this Forum it was 'streng verboten' to discuss undies. The operational interpretation of that is that it is specifically verboten to discuss that with which we gird our loins. Other than that, if the intent is to alter the external appearance or behaviour of a gar...

Re: Public safety in skirting 2021
Interesting discussion and such a shame that level of threat exists, or can exist, when we are indulging in an innocent pleasure that is for many of us a necessary lifestyle choice. Vital for our mental and spiritual health and to live a true life. An honest life. Over here in the UK I guess the thr...

Re: Why do mens kilts have to look so masculine
The other way to go is with a 'cargo' or 'utility' skirt. I have a few of these - they look like cargo shorts, but unbifurcated - one in black and a couple in 'army green', with the usual tapes/zips/studs styling. There is nothing intrinsically 'feminine' in those, and they are much lighter and eas...

Re: Skirts worn with a corset
I would love to try a corset to give more dramatic shape. I’d wear it with an A line skirt.
