Re: Sightings "in the wild"

Saturday evening at a local 2nd hand shop I was checking out the designer section which often has men's used designer skirts for a decent price. After several months visiting this place I have never seen a guy in that section or in a skirt. Until this past Saturday. To my amazement there was a Japan...

Re: Sightings "in the wild"

Sounds good and promising! When I was in Tokyo in 2011 and 2013 including the districts Harajuku and Omotesando, I didn't see any men in kilts or skirts. But a lot of teenage girls in mini-kilts in various tartans. I didn't see skirts on men other than cross dressing in that same time frame. I've b...

Re: Sightings "in the wild"

Hi Guys, A small victory for men in skirts today. I went to Harajuku and Omotesando today, two of Tokyo's fashion districts. I went to check out sales at a couple 2nd hand shops that often have designer men's skirts. Sadly I didn't find anything good today. But I did get stopped by a press crew on m...

Re: Starting a line of skirts

[*]After-bath or lounging wrap-arounds, just to plant the idea that living without an inseam isn't completely bonkers. In the Zara skirt thread it was suggested that skirt-over-trousers may be a crutch needed to get men into skirts. Could it be that (for non-kilt designs), MIS must begin with baby ...

Re: Starting a line of skirts

Besides what’s already been said, it would be helpful to have some kind of roominess in the front, or a zipper like conventional pants to keep penis outlines from popping out too much. Yes!! Even the high end skirts fall down on this. So we are looking at some ways to structure the front to allow f...

Re: Sightings "in the wild"

Some new sightings this week. 1. Long black skirt layered with wide pants and some very sleek shoes. Seen on the streets in Shinjuku. My friend thinks the guy was a local TV/Music star but could not place his name. His friends were dressed in very expensive Supreme fare, basically a brand releasing ...

Re: A missed opportunity

Have to agree that you set an example that could have him searching for an option for his fashion. Probably made an impression.

Re: Starting a line of skirts

Things I would like include organic hemp fabric in natural colors, no restriction in movement, and of course, pockets. A light short version for hot weather and a heavy long version for cool weather would be nice. I'm going to get a real chance to see what works in hot humid urban weather come summ...

Re: Starting a line of skirts

Kellyrain. Under personal stories there is a thread with alot of comments on the subject. Read:To brand and market a mens skirt You will get many opinions on what is the ideal male skirt. I would love to see someone take off with the men's skirt. For awhile I was and still am playing with the idea....

Re: Starting a line of skirts

Caultron has the right ideas, but I'd like to add some thoughts of my own. First off, I'm a big lad (need 48"/122cm waist), which the Skirtcraft range doesn't cover. I like the idea of slash/seam pockets (like tr******s) - possibly the most saleable item will be some form of 'stealth' skirt, c...

Re: Starting a line of skirts

...... I would like something that looks like a kilt without the pleats and not as much flare; just enough to allow enough stride for hiking. ...... Before I went from kilts to skirts as daily wear, I made an in-between model. I made it look like an UTkilt with lots of pockets and an apron but with...

Re: Starting a line of skirts

Marketing skirts for men. I would suggest the marketing would include pictures of men doing activities that lend themselves well to skirts. Hiking, golf, archery, bowling, etc. with women admiring them. I believe women like men in skirts and kilts and would buy them for their husbands and SOs. I ha...

Re: Starting a line of skirts

I think you have a good idea. I would like a wrap skirt with at least one pocket for my keys. I carry a military looking shoulder bag with pockets for wallet, sunglasses, credit cards, hanky, hand sanitizer, etc. I like outdoorsy looking skirts like camouflage patterns, khaki, gray, olive drab, den...

Re: Quasi-kilt

One garment marketed as unisex was the Madra Kilt . Actually, a short, pleated skirt apparently intended as a woman's skirt. It resembles a woman's kilted-skirt more than a man's kilt. (I just re-checked the sizes listed online, and their largest waist size is too small for me). One might create a ...

Starting a line of skirts

Have you ever felt that what you most want to wear doesn't exist? For years I have had ideas for fashion that I can't find. Often only to find it show up from designers a year or two later. Skirts for men being just one of them. So with my growing interest in skirts I decided to explore making my id...
