Re: AP: Fendi leads Milan trends with feminine silhouettes for men

Most guys want to follow the herd and not stand out, so something boring and denim from a local store or thrift shop is ideal  Not necessarily denim, but yeah. I prefer khaki or black to denim blue. To each their own. I have seen, however, that even finding denim skirts without little girl...

Re: AP: Fendi leads Milan trends with feminine silhouettes for men

No, Steve, it's not enough, but it may give us a little head start, which is better than nothing. The fact that menswear doesn't do the "fast fashion" thing the way women's retailers do, is both a blessing and a curse. It makes a big change like skirts harder to enact, but once it happens it will no...

Re: AP: Fendi leads Milan trends with feminine silhouettes for men

If we're going to wait for the Fashion world (capital "F" there, mind) to produce workable looks and styles for men we're going to have a very long wait indeed -- probably about two or three typical lifetimes, unless something happens by accident. I don't see acceptance being driven by the Fashion ...

Re: What are you afraid of

I've been told that they can't even breed captive snakes in Ireland for some scientifically inexplicable reason. People have always like bringing in exotic animals from faraway places. You'd think by now some would have gotten loose and started reproducing at some point since then if it was simply a...

Re: Windsor Tweed Suit

I have been very fortunate to acquire a 21st Century Kilts suit in black off ebay! The prices are high but most kilt suits start at £800 to £1300, as each are made to wearer's measurements. I have just had another kilt suit made which should arrive in about 8 weeks. Getting one off eBay is quite th...

Re: Oxford Men's Skirt

They've gotta be joking. The wretched thing doesn't even look nice. Tom There's that, too. I've seen worse, but this one is pretty bad... I'd rather go get multiple brand new kilts with that money (or even those Acton things from that other thread, at what $150 each? At least they looked decent...)...

Re: Merry Christmas

Thanks for the history lesson. Do people still put out the little boxes? Or hand deliver cards?

I did know about the Feast of Steven, glad it's still known that way in Ireland.

But more importantly, can a man be considered "well-heeled" without wearing high heels?

Re: Oxford Men's Skirt

I pulled up the site before reading to the end of your post. High-priced is right, I almost choked when I saw the price in the site...

Thanks for posting this stuff anyway. It is encouraging to see.

And may you all have a grand Boxing Day too, to top it off.
Cheers, FG
What does one do on Boxing Day? Fight? Throw out all the packaging from your Christmas presents? We don't have this day in America...

Re: Harper’s BAZAAR Australia: The age of genderless dressing: A sixty-something football coach changes the dress code

I never wear jeans. Hate 'em. Ditto this old boy. I can't stand the things. Heavy, uncomfortable, and not-at-all hard-wearing. Not worth the price of admission. I'm with you. I wear pants (ugh) as much as skirts, and yet I've only got one or two pair of jeans left and almost never wear them. They c...

Re: Hamburg Germany and my Porsche

No Instagram for me, though I did make a Pinterest account a little while back for some unknown reason. Don't check it much. Your pictures show up there with some frequency, but mostly older ones. So yes, keep posting here. I check this a lot more often. If I'm not mistaken, Instagram is run by Face...

Re: Sexual Fetish or Gender Expression?

For us thinner guys, to get a men's shirt that works well with a skirt, you often need to go to a slim fit shirt. A baggy shirt tucked into a skirt often looks bad. A bulkier looking skirt (or even a kilt or Utilikilt) will work better with a looser fitting shirt, and may be easier to pair with stan...

Re: Vogue: How Men’s Fashion Changed for the Better This Year

Dust There is no queen of England. She’s the queen of the United Kingdom, or the queen of Britain (not Great Britain). Calling her the queen of England is like me calling Biden the president of Texas. Please do try to refrain from confusing England with the U.K. it’s borderline offensive to non Eng...
