Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

I guess I'm in the minority, but I'd love me a good "cargo skirt" that was a bit above the knee and fit nicely. Isn't that more or less what the original Skirtcraft design was about? Except for the knee: mine lies more or less on the knee. It has excellent pockets, and my wife approves of it ;-) Ar...

I'm with you. I don't wear certain skirts as much because I want pockets! Part of the reason my utility kilts ge...

Re: Who What Wear: Brad Pitt Just Wore a Skirt on the Red Carpet and Pulled It Off With Ease

For Brad Pitt, he knew in Germany he would be okay in his skirt, but opted for jeans in London the following day. Should have followed it up with another skirt, most would just see it as celebrities trying to get attention... ...If Brad was in a simple A line with tights, or denim pencil, it might ...

Re: Who What Wear: Brad Pitt Just Wore a Skirt on the Red Carpet and Pulled It Off With Ease

The problem is "toxic masculinity" is a trigger phrase that, once employed, eliminates any hope of rational discussion on the matter. And that's the point. Feminists use it too do exactly that. Can't discuss the male side of the equality thing... We were coming around to actual equality, so they dr...

Re: An observation about men of different cultures

I've found, however, that folks (male or female) from other cultures are less likely to be phased by a guy in a skirt...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

I was out in a 5.11 tactical "kilt," a T-shirt, and sandals. One of the guys working at the store I was in, stopped to ask me about my T-shirt! No comments on my lower half...

Re: Good news for a change?

Great! (But we still need to work on getting skirts on to guys who aren't already practising drag queens.) Yeah, it's nice, but really very much another cookie cutter LGBTQ article. When he invoked the pride flag, trans flag, and for some odd reason hashtagged "blacklivesmatter" he just alienated 5...

Re: I just don't understand...

Thunk about it... for the last decade or so I've been able to freely discuss matters of atheism or agnosticism, Wiccan, paganism freely with pretty much anyone... but if you say something against Trump or the people of his party... "dems fightin words..." I remind my Christian friends all the time ...

Re: Solar powered clothes dryer... an ancient technology..

A friend of mine's family growing up dried their laundry hanging inside the house, at least sometimes. I assume this was weather related. They also hung it outside at times. It works, but the machine is so quick... Some weather just isn't conducive to this. Rain, snow, high humidity, etc. I drip dry...

Re: Heels

I do know a woman with issues standing flat footed, partly from heels, part from dancing. She's fairly young, and struggled to walk flat footed around her kids as to not encourage them to stand on their toes all the time and end up with the same condition. I would highly encourage anyone who wishes ...

Re: "National Boycott" over childrens book at Pizza Hut

One of Scotland's nation shames is that we deep fry pizzas and have them with chips. (I don't partake) But everything is better deep fried! At least, that's the American way of doing things. I'm glad to hear that the deep fried pizza I had at a, ummm.. UK themed? restaurant in New York one time was...

Re: The skirt... still a bridge too far it seems.

If you have a woman with you giving her tacit approval, it signals to every guy who sees it that what you are doing is okay. It is a valid point but we have to learn to tough it out too. Woman don't behave like they need to be on a guys arm to justify their existence. Steve. Of course women don't n...

Re: Harvard Business Review article on non-conforming men at work

The bottom line is that there is a stigma associated with anything considered feminine, particularly in the workplace. While there have been significant advances in the feminism movement, being female is still equated with being the weaker sex. Until both males and females embrace degrees of femini...
