Re: Skorts: Yes, no or personal preference

I went back to the store again today and low and behold what I had look at previously was only Monday through Wednesday deal. What I found today was a deal Thursday through Sunday and I found something more to my liking. I found that white denim skirt along with along with a button down the front bl...

Skorts: Yes, no or personal preference

I was out shopping looking for a denim skirt in white and or khaki. Walked into the store and thought I found what I was looking for. As I looked closer it turned out to be a skort. I liked it but really wasn't sure if it was what I was looking for at the moment. I decided that I would continue look...

When you say long sweaters are you meaning something in the manner of a sweater dress or just an over sized sweater wearing only that
with either leggings or tights?

Tights, Pantyhose or Leggings

Now that the weather outside is a bit frightful in other words the temps are a bit on the cool side what is the best leg wear for keeping the legs warm while in a skirt. Or is it nothing but personal preference as to what one should wear? Also does footwear have something to say in what is worn? For...

Re: Traveling skirted

This past summer as I travel east once or twice a month I started to do so skirted usually leaving Sunday after church. It’s about a 600 mile drive from Peoria, Illinois to Western Pennsylvania. I travel to the Indiana/Ohio border where I spend the night in Richmond. As I travel this portion of the ...

Re: Your basic black skirt

It's not a cargo skirt. Those always have flap pockets. I find the flaps inconvenient and I avoid cargo pants, cargo shorts, or cargo skirts. The LS just has straight open pockets, two front, two back, and one watch pocket. Incidentally, they had the five colors I mentioned, plus white. Cute, but n...

Re: Your basic black skirt

Many Sears stores are closing, but the one in my area still has a full rack of Laura Scott 5-pocket skirts. So I bought another one, in denim blue. I now have five: black, light tan, dark olive, dark navy blue, and blue denim. $14.99, size 16 perfect fit. This is my second favorite skirt after the ...

"Taking the plunge"

I have been going skirted around the house a few times a week. I found this site and had been lurking. I joined last week and offered an introduction. I plan on driving east this week leaving Wednesday after a lunch meeting. I drive from central Illinois to the Ohio/Indiana border where I spend the ...

Re: Greetings from Central Illinois

Welcome to Skirtcafe. I'm about an hour north of you, a little south of Princeton, IL. I've had no negative experiences out and about fishing, biking, shopping or in restaurants in a skirt. Give it a try. When we get older (I'm 65) we can get a little eccentric and no one worries too much! Jim Than...

Re: Greetings from Central Illinois

Next time you go to your mothers wear a skirt for the trip and change before you get there. I guarantee you will be anxious to put that skirt on for the trip home and as far as the stops along the way you are never going to see those people again. This is what I plan on doing as I travel East next ...

Re: Greetings from Central Illinois

Go into a deli or lotto store later at night until you get up your courage. In my community are several walk in and sit down Dairy Queens' and Culver's all closing around 10:00 pm. At time I get the urge for an evening ice cream usually around 9:15-9:30. The ones I've been to are not busy at that t...
