Re: How often do you wear a skirt?

Daily.

I’m preparing to go on a longish (15km) walk in the countryside later this morning.

Re: Ballet Flats and Mary Janes Back on the Runway

Norwich was one of the three major centres of shoe manufacture in the UK https://www.edp24.co.uk/news/business/20798680.norwich-made-name-shoe-manufacturing/. My mother put me in Startrite sandals for nursery school in the 1950’s. The factory (perhaps one of several in the city) used to be at https:...

Re: Slow Site

For me, just now (1522hrs UTC+1) 67 seconds to load the first (login) page, but much faster thereafter.

And 28 seconds to load this page (from "post reply").

i.e. Significantly slower than it was 10 days ago.

Re: Women wearing skirts

...... Even worse, there is no firm evidence to suggest that a majority of girls would see a boy in a skirt as a good candidate for romance. ....... Steve However, if you look at this dilemma from the other direction, the situation can be turned to our advantage. The very fact that few women are te...

Re: Do People Notice?

If you really want people to notice your skirt, then wear a very bright coloured one and plain colours in the remainder of your outfit; on the other hand, if you want people NOT to notice your skirt, then wear a plain, drab one with brightly coloured garments elsewhere (top, socks, etc.) When I was ...

atlasformen

Has anyone had any experience of atlasformen? Their skirts, at surprisingly reasonable prices, are hidden among their dresses. And the dresses (many in styles and shapes that would seem to match the advice given by SC members) are well priced too. https://www.atlasformen.co.uk/women/clothing/dresses...

Skirted Style in the Philippines

I'm glad to see that, at least in the Philippines, young MIS are not mindlessly aping the over-hyped, over-priced stuff that graces(?) the runways of the western fashion capitals. https://www.glamourholicmom.com/2025/04/men-in-skirts-fashion-freedom-and-rise.html I particularly like the picture of t...

Re: GERMANY

If I didn't make it clear in my previous post, I wore skirts all the time, from when I left home three weeks ago until I got back in the very early hours this morning.

Re: GERMANY

(Different country, but probably just as conservative as Germany.) I have just returned from 3 weeks in rural Normandy, went to four tourist information offices in different towns, out quite often walking in the countryside, shopping in different supermarkets (Auchan, Leclerc) and at a Decathlon sho...

Re: Sightings "in the wild"

Today, 12th May, at about 1330hrs, in Norwich (UK), heading up Elm Hill, a tall slender man (mid- to late 40s/early 50s?), shoulder-length curly dark hair, in a soft-looking pink dress (I think that the colour is "old rose") and with a white cardigan around his shoulders. He looked very co...

Re: Sightings "in the wild"

Today (27th April, Sunday) at about 0955hrs, in the street outside the Beccles Quakers' Meeting House (Suffolk), a man whom I took at first to be Stevie away from his usual part of the UK (same approximate age, same hair style and colour, same beard, same kinds of clothing - fleece top, long red ski...

As a member of this community based outside of the USA, and having read some of the observations (from Carl and Moon in particular) about working life in the USA, I found the information in https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2025/02/the-surveillance-tech-waiting-for-workers-as-they-retur...

Re: New Technologies

1974 is roughly the same time I had my first computer experiences. I was a bit more lucky, thanks to various family members who encouraged "the little one" when I was still in my single-digits of age, and I recall getting tours of computer rooms in various research institutes and hospital...
