Re: Interesting Guy

Mark you look great. I had been seeing you on my Pinterest feed but never took the step of reaching out. Looking for any good robotics engineers? I am a professor of mechanical engineering at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver BC and we have some extremely bright graduates in your field...

Hey, I took a picture! Rarest of rarities!

Couldn't decide whether to post it here or under "cracking good day..." We are sailing for the (past and) next few weeks, and here is one of my normal sailing ensembles.

Re: I'd love to wear this to work...

I have a couple of skirts very like #7 which I do indeed often wear to work.

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

Sorry, I'm just not a picture-taker. My post would be better were it illustrated. I have always liked lacy white short-sleeved blouses, but had difficulty working them into an acceptable ensemble. Sunday I found a very nice camisole however which made an excellent undershirt under a new blouse. The ...

Re: Do folks notice or not?

?..the world accepts men wearing skirts. We just have to accept it in our own heads... I wore a rather femme ensemble to work last Friday - nylons, heels, skirt - thinking that my day would consist of sitting quietly in my office marking papers. So of course first thing in the morning I meet a moth...

Moon, all of my eyeglasses came from the "women's" rack. I don't prefer cat eyes, but I do prefer the slightly lighter, softer, gentler-coloured,..whatever.

Re: Sightings "in the wild"

Kirbstone, that's a style I would definitely wear to work. In fact it is very similar to a grey skirt that my daughter picked out for me, and which I _do_ wear to work regularly.

Robert thank you very much for those comments. I had no idea that my remarks were meaningful. Feedback of the sort you have provided is very uplifting and appreciated.

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

Changed computers and was gone for a while. Just catching up. No big events to report, but I'll continue to post the "it's no big deal" stories: In brief, at the beginning of term I try not to distract my students by my attire, and then I loosen up as the term goes by. This term my concern...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

I was at work, talking to a newly met colleague. I was wearing a mid-calf wool skirt, and my new dangly onyx ear rings. We were speaking in general of my penchant for engineering innovation, and the degree to which it had been valued by the US military while I was in the service of the Pentagon. The...

Hello from UBC. Where on the island are you? Maybe I'll come anchor off your beach some weekend during the summer sailing season.

Re: After Action Report: Meeting in re: Transgender Rights

All this week I have been appearing in Federal Court here in Washington DC, and thus have donned (as close as I can with my wardrobe) the uniform. It's surprisingly grating to me! I mean, I did dress this way daily for decades, but now it seems I can hardly wait to get 'home' to the hotel to cast of...

Re: Where have so many members gone

Hi. As so many others have said, it has just gotten to the point that skirt wearing is now longer a big deal. It's not 'scary' as it was in the early days, when I needed y'all to hold my hand and tell me it's OK. Instead, I just wear my skirts when I want to and go on about my business. I do still a...

Re: Men in Women's Shoes

What was the rest of your outfit? With the heels I wore trousers. On the final day, preparatory to flying home, I wore a black knee-length "office style" skirt, but with sandals. I much prefer skirts when I fly, since sitting and sliding down in the seat will cause trousers to bunch up in...
