Re: His Black Dress - a freestyle fashion blog

Thanks for the feedback, Ray! I appreciate it! ... and your take on where you draw the line on clothing. The last point is pertinent as that line differs for all of us. Totally agree! I think my line is a bit further than most, but that's okay. What I hope that people will take away from my blog / v...

Re: His Black Dress is now on YouTube! - Your Opinions Wante

Thank you for the compliments, everyone! I appreciate it and I'm glad to know that some of you "get it". Yes, that guy with the guitar in the video is totally rockin' it, which is why I favorite'd the video! Unfortunately, my opinion of his you tube is "The feminine movements pitch th...

Re: His Black Dress - a freestyle fashion blog

Hey, everyone! So I've been trying to dedicate more time to the blog, and keep content coming regularly. I'm a bit disappointed that there are so many views and so little replies here. I'd like to know what you guys want to see on a blog about guys in skirts! Overall, the goal is just to get a prese...

His Black Dress is now on YouTube! - Your Opinions Wanted

Hey everyone, I've started posting videos to YouTube. To my knowledge, I may be the only guy actually wearing a skirt while talking about fashion freedom on YouTube, so there's totally no pressure or anything. In all seriousness, I would like for my videos to get a positive message across abou...

Re: His Black Dress - a freestyle fashion blog

Hey guys, Been a while since I posted here. Actually, it's been so long that my blog address changed, ha! You can now find my blog at http://www.hisblackdress.blogspot.com . On that note, I'd like to also give a quick update on what's going on with the blog. This February I'll be packing away all my...

Re: Stylist in a dress

I suspect that part of the "problem" (as I view it) with the look is that it's outrageously over the top. I understand that is sometimes necessary in the world of "high fashion", but would the look work in an everyday setting? Would you wear such an ensemble to a job interview? ...

Re: Stylist in a dress

This seems as good a time as any to say this. I think this forum is far too obsessed with keeping things "masculine". Freestyle fashion is all about breaking preconceived gender stereotypes on style. Consistently calling men who wear more than just a boring denim skirt crossdressers is not...

Re: Summer dress?

I'll take a look at some shirt dresses of various kinds. Can you recommend any online retailers, preferably cheap ones? I've looked at ebay a little but it's always such a free-for-all on there. Well, I have to shop in plus sizes so any suggestions I have would largely be pointless, but I will say ...

Re: Summer dress?

Women's sizing is indeed a bit of a black art. When I shop, I know that there are 3-4 sizes that could work for me, it just depends on the garment. One size 24 might be too small, another might fall off me. It's strange. Anyhow, Carl is right, it sounds like you might be in for a t-shirt dress. If y...

Re: Needing to vent my frustration

Since1982 is correct. Just do it. The only way to alter perceived fashion restrictions is to break them. I think you'll find you'll not be chased by either fashion police or angry mobs while on your skirted run. In all seriousness though, take the opportunity to be yourself now. No regrets, man. 8)

Re: What happened to ...

Nigel still posts when he has something he wants to say. Ah, yeah I should have worded my post a bit differently. It's been just over a year since he has posted a picture of one of his outfits here, which is what I would like to see more of from him. It's good he's still around though, of course. :)

His Black Dress - a freestyle fashion blog

I've recently started a blog about freestyle fashion, and wanted to share the link here. My goal with the blog is to try to promote freedom of expression in fashion for men, be it wearing skirts, dresses, heels, or all of the above. I hope that some people around this forum will find my blog interes...

Re: Switcheroo: An interesting picture set.

I certainly agree about most of the clothing choices being ghastly. Regardless, I thought the exercise was interesting. My wife and I are about the same height and we can share some clothes. I'm thinking about possibly doing a photo like these with her, although I think I'd have to start in a skirt ...

Re: What happened to ...

Veletron is a huge inspiration for me. His photos were a huge stepping stone for me to accept my own interpretation of fashion. His pictures from the mountaineering club dances blew my mind with how stylish and sophisticated he looked while wearing garments traditionally viewed as very feminine. I w...
