Re: Over or bottom up?
For me I go bottom up, I step in and then pull up the skirt before doing up the fasteners... I’ve never tried over the head myself, always bottom up!

Re: Successful bachelors (or widowers) ...
I taught myself to sew as well. I'm comfortable sewing buttons back on, repairing minor tears etc, but not big projects involving a sewing machine! I also studied 'food technology' as it was called at school (updated version of home economics I guess) and that was the most useful subject I took! Bei...

Re: Garden railway photos
Absolutely brilliant, what a hobby you have! It would be interesting to see it in person some day. I have thought about starting my own model railway, more than likely indoors though, it is just a case of finding the time to put into it!

Re: Skirt wearing in The Netherlands
I would say that the Dutch tend to be fairly liberal with their attitudes so you may well find them more accepting than other cultures (just my view...)! It would be interesting to hear about your experiences there and whether the culture is, in fact, more accepting of male skirt wearing. Enjoy.

Hi eevee,
I don't think there is a problem with your skirt being a school skirt, indeed a couple of the ones I have in my collection are school skirts. Obviously as others have said I wouldn't recommend going for a full school 'outfit' but wearing a skirt on its own shouldn't be a problem!

Re: Going out in public skirted for the first time
Thanks for the advice and support here everyone... I'll definitely take this all on board and hopefully take my first venture out soon! My feeling is that the outfit with the a line skirt is relatively discreet so shouldn't attract too much attention, but I'll let you know how I get on!!

Going out in public skirted for the first time
Hi everyone, I wonder if I can get some advice from you all. I’m looking to go out in public in one of my skirts for the first time and this is a big step for me. I’ve settled, I think, on an outfit – which is one of my navy blue plain skirts paired with a polo shirt (I have attached a picture for a...

Re: Another newbie!
zpredominantly I wear knee length (roughly) skirts and have both plain and pleated varieties, I'm not a fan of tight pencil skirts myself though. I try to wear them as much as I can as they are just so much more comfortably than trousers. For the very first time today I took my car out for a spin w...

Re: article - "Boys in skirts trending!"
I would agree with the other commentators here that we need to move beyond associating a man wearing a skirt with gender/identity issues. I for one, as is the case for most here I imagine, wear a skirt because it is comfortable, and the single reason I am not more open about this is because others w...

Re: What makes a skirt manly v feminine
I would agree with a lot of the comments previously written. For me a more masculine skirt is plain, without pleats or too much detailing, in a solid, dark colour, such as black, navy blue or dark grey... I agree that the back or side closure is also rather feminine, but with few skirts specifically...

Another newbie!
Hi everyone, Another new member here! I've watched these forums without registering for a long time now so thought I should pluck up the courage to sign up and join in formally. I'm based in the UK, South West, and I've been wearing skirts (discreetly) for a long time now, must be approaching 18 yea...
