Re: World leaders and skirts and apparently a conversation on Scotland becoming separate from the United Kingdom &#12852

I don't think I actually said that Northern Ireland would become part of the Republic. They might want to (OK the majority might want to - a significant minority would go apoplectic) but why would Ireland want to take them on board - an economic and sectarian nightmare. It is worth pondering on the ...

Re: World leaders and skirts

Glad some fellow Scots have pitched in to defend us from this wall of Brits from outside Scotland telling us what to do (no change there). Even the pro-union Scots would bristle at the prospect of uniting the education and legal systems of the four nations. And yer Bank of England was founded by a S...

Re: World leaders and skirts

The only way to effect major change in this country is via the ballot box. The ballot box has spoken. There is a majority in the Scottish Parliament for a referendum. Any motion to hold one is likely to be over-ruled by a numpty elected by another country. Could you please tell us how we can get ind...

Re: World leaders and skirts

I do not have the figures to hand and it is not worth the effort of researching it but as far as I am aware the last time Scotland voted Tory was around 1956 - there is no way there was a Tory majority in the pre-Thatcher years. I am safe saying 'we' because that is how the votes were cast in Scotla...

Re: World leaders and skirts

As for Independence WTF has that got to do with you? I presume you are referring to independence of Scotland from (at least) England, where I and Dennis live.  In that case, we should have just as much say in whether England becomes independent of Scotland as the Scots should have in whether Scotla...

Re: The Sydney Morning Herald: Is the Australian men’s market ready for skirts yet?

A few years ago some newspaper ran a story about the new skirt suit for men and they were deluged with inquiries for more information. It was an April Fool, but it just shows the interest is out there. I feel that making this breakthrough is simply a matter of getting the marketing right. I the 1970...

Re: World leaders and skirts

I wondered about Boris. Now I can't get the image of Boris dressed like Miriam Margoyles out of my head - thanks for that. Easier to see male leaders in dresses than Angela Merkel in one! Eddie Izzard is planning to go into politics and has said he will wear the sort of outfits that female politicia...

Re: FT article

A handful of people have indeed assumed I was a woman. I like to put this down to the quality of my acting ... The real test is whether you are happy with them assuming you are a woman; not just because you feel you have fooled them, but because you feel more comfortable in yourself when they do it...

Re: FT article

I give up. If, dressed as a woman, your mannerisms are such that it becomes difficult to tell that you are a man then you become a woman without having the change in genitals. You may be deluding yourself in thinking that you are "acting" but in reality you are fooling others to think that you are ...

Re: FT article

If you are acting, you are acting. No sane actor going on stage as Napoleon actually believes he IS Napoleon. People meeting me when I am fully dressed as a woman are usually people (women) that know me and know I am male. I have a women friend I go out with and I drop the act when we are alone toge...

Re: FT article

I am another label rebel. But people love their labels so I invented my own. I like wearing clothes society likes only women to wear. Sometimes I dress as a woman and go out in public presenting as a woman. It is never a problem. I am treated with respect and affection at all times. At no stage do I...

Re: Almaty: suicide of boy wearing (at once) a skirt

There is a danger of over-thinking this one. A high proportion of children are bullied. There doesn't even need to be a reason. It tends to be ongoing rather than one-off. I fear that the skirt-wearing incident may have been one of many bullying experiences for this boy. We also have to acknowledge ...

Re: The epilator

I have quite a lot of experience of this. I have hairless legs at various periods over the last 20 years and last had hairy legs 10 years ago. Waxing is fine but does not last. Shaving leaves stubble. Epilators work but also leave stubble and ingrowing hairs (even if you exfoliate) and are painful o...

It is not Kinlock Anderson - it is Kinloch Anderson aw cripes... quite right... corrected. NZF We get a lot of people writing lock instead of loch but they are vastly outnumbered by those who do this out loud. Most of the culprits come from a lot closer to Scotland than New Zealand. Strange how an ...
