Re: Virgin updates uniform policy

What the hell is wrong with red for a guy, I love it.
I may have "outgrown" the pencil design, but I would not hesitate over a skirt in that colour.
Good comments though and surely no Cafe member could disagree.

Re: Mexican Men's skirt brand - Baron

This is very interesting! For two thousand pesos or one hundred pounds sterling and the same in dollars US we have a skirt for a guy. A kilt will start around four hundred but a good one probably double that at least. Then we have the eye watering Thom Browne creations at two to three thousand. OK, ...

Re: Swedish skirt

Yes, it is good to see things like this, a place where being different makes no difference at all. The outfit that the guy with the fiddly thing had on looked perfectly wearable to me too. The good folks from Abba were heavily involved in the Swedish folk scene before they hit the big time. Just a b...

Re: Are male skirts about to be the next fashion essential?

So you never feel nerves ever when you wear a skirt publicly? Like you could go into any place regardless of who’s there or what kind of biker bar it was? I’m asking cause I feel I’ll get to a place where I can wear more comfortably but that there’s also gonna be places where I’ll feel self conscio...

Re: Virgin updates uniform policy

Slight drift, but I see good old Pythos is still around and appears all growed up now.
No idea how old he actually was when he was a regular here but always seemed very young to me.

Re: Virgin updates uniform policy

Makes you wonder though, why did they go through the trouble to make a “Virgin” tartan? Perhaps there will be a future outfit coming?? It was originally registered in 2001 and is exclusive to the company. They may have used it in the past and may do again who knows? If you fancy a garment in it jus...

Re: Are male skirts about to be the next fashion essential?

No idea about the number of articles but here are a couple of dates. David Hall gave an interview on the Phil Donohue Show in 1982 to advocate men wearing skirts. Jean Paul Gautier launched his first skirt designs for men in 1984. The skirts for men movement is still stuck at the catwalk/high end fa...

weird, awkward, and a bit bizarre. Speaking of which, when I run across them I will post them for a "laugh".
Bodycon suggested that we create a skirt from a hacked curtain and display the results at Christmas Time.
I'm up for it, could be a hoot.

Re: Virgin updates uniform policy

But if they offered a kilt? People would instinctively know that was a real possibility. On another thread, in different airspace we had already started discussing this very topic, but this is new. Guess what there is a "Virgin" tartan which has to be vergin' on the same absurdity level as "Koala. ...

Re: You Get a Chopova Lowena Skirt, Everybody Gets a Chopova Lowena Skirt

I found a price for one at £650 UK so certainly not for "everybody".
The designs are good but the price, which is not the highest, is prohibitive to say the least.

Re: Good news from an airline!

I'd err on the side of caution too. Not so much from the "woke" point of view, but simply who will be the first? That guy will be one very brave soldier! Then will anyone follow behind him? It certainly lends a certain scope though, watch the space as Virgin will milk any attendant publicity to the ...

Re: Are male skirts about to be the next fashion essential?

The bin/garbage man, singular, arises from this article https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-york-north-yorkshire-62138708. Never heard the term “binmen“ but that seems to describe a common man no? It does Scot, but this was just a one-off stunt and no indicator of a mass movement to men wearing sk...
