Re: pandemic trend

Offhand, I'd suspect that anything that's going on in Madonna's world doesn't much resemble what passes for reality. As far as those who wish to live in the Old Testament world -- well, let's bring back public stonings. Not just Madonna but elements of showbiz and certain wealth levels all exist on...

Re: Lacking confidence

Stephanie53 I will go against the rest of the advice, Sure, take some hints and tips from us veterans but the experience and learning from it is yours and yours alone. I could say that no one noticed or reacted when I was completely naked and it was fine, That would not make it so for you. The way I...

Re: New York Times article

I guess that my skirt wearing event days are so far in the dim and distant past that I rather think of them as ancient history. In terms of norms, dresses and skirts are my clothes of choice on a routine daily basis. Trouser times have become the bigger event and would cause considerable comment fro...

Re: Earthbound Trading Unisex Dress

A sort of long T would fit the bill. I have long posited at what point in lengthening a T-shirt does it become a T-shirt dress? Even my wife has no answer to that one. Thanks Dennis and we are back on topic in a way. If the tee is of sufficient length that you can wear it without displaying that wh...

Re: Earthbound Trading Unisex Dress

It is already socially acceptable for a man to wear a woman's dressing gown, no matter how feminine it might be. The only rule is that he has to be in her house as an overnight guest. It is a sort of badge of sexual success (I slept with this woman last night) which legitimises it. Ye Gods, I must ...

Re: Earthbound Trading Unisex Dress

"Tunic" May be a possibility but "house dress" or "tea gown" just sound too archaic to have much appeal in marketing terms. Besides our housebound comrades are not that likely to be stampeding to get a man tunic in order to strut their stuff to the world at large. On a more optimistic note the tunic...

Re: Another Skirted Score

It still is best to approach HR before turning up for work in your desired wardrobe For anyone else out there who is contemplating a skirt outfit at work, this is possibly the best advice of all. Consult some of your co-workers too. They may give a good indication of your employers likely reaction....

Re: Another Skirted Score

As long as you let HR know, there's rarely an issue at work. Knee length skirts in dark colours has not been an issue, so long as you keep working just as well as before, and don't make it a distraction. Pencil skirts and tights / stockings are fine, with reasonable shoes, like the wardrobe Alistai...

Cute stuff! I wish I had the courage they have now when I was 18 years old. Of course, times have changed a lot since then.
Absolutely Moon and like Carl says, there are many more of us too.
Man, we just wasted time and more importantly, a great deal of living.

Re: Another Skirted Score

I agree with Sinned on the point that this is a one-off of which we have seen a few in the past and trousered status quo will resume. However, at the risk of becoming repetitive, there is no statutory right in current UK legislation for a man to wear a skirt at work as a male. Where a dress code doe...

Re: Earthbound Trading Unisex Dress

When someone is in business they are trying to sell things. Hi Jim That is the point I was making here and have made elsewhere. We shall only see a radical change in the menswear offer when the retailers sense a profit to be made from the demand. They do not exist to assist our cause but perhaps, i...

Re: Earthbound Trading Unisex Dress

All very true comments, but at least they are attempting to market something towards men that is not currently mainstream. I'd agree that I'd give them some credit for trying a new angle but I'd question the motivation. My cynical side say that it is just a sales ploy. Nothing to do with expanding ...

Re: Earthbound Trading Unisex Dress

RM Anderson has the right pf it on this subject. What we really have here appears to me like a longer than average tee shirt or casual top. As to value that is difficult to gauge from the picture but likely be able to find a comparable dress at a lower price without the unisex label. It even says in...

Re: Story from Spain

It makes you wonder which century the apparel judges are in. The nineteenth by the look of it. Nope, the "apparel judges" are alive and well in the twenty second century unfortunately. What is more, most are self appointed and in a neighbourhood near you. Chances are that you will not even have an ...
