Re: International Men Can Wear Dresses Day

I also wonder if we could have a coordinated flash mob on that day. Inundate retailers with men shopping for skirts/dresses. Alternatively, you could have like 20 MIS show up to a crowded mall, and act as if they are each independently shopping on that day (but not necessarily for skirts/dresses). ...

Re: International Men Can Wear Dresses Day

I wonder whether we do more of the type of thing Steve did with the Herald of Scotland news paper. I thought the piece that came from that was quite good, even involving Skirt Cafe input. If anybody cannot get the link in Steve's post to work. I have put together a full text of the piece. I would p...

I have to decline, I shall speak as I see fit and with no apology to anyone.

Re: International Men Can Wear Dresses Day

So…if the retailers/vendors respond to demand, then, why don’t we start making a rucus? Why don’t we start calling retailers/vendors and demand that they acknowledge this day? Make all the "rucus" you wish bur telling retailers how to conduct their business isn't the demand that will get ...

Re: International Men Can Wear Dresses Day

I'm unlikely to be able to participate without causing friction! Don't worry there are 21 other things plus your wedding anniversary to choose from which needn't cause friction Mr Soapsud. Check the list, I'm pretty sure most of humankind is covered in one way or another. If not, create one and the...

Re: International Men Can Wear Dresses Day

Oh my, I hadn't realised that the 15th of May was so significant in the world's calendar. Apart from men in dresses, there are 21 other "events", marked for this auspicious date. Two in particular stood out. Buddha's birthday and a special day for children taking their parents to the park....

Re: International Men Can Wear Dresses Day

Who knows you might come across a news reporter and want to discuss why you are wearing a dress or skirt on this day. Done that, check this Mr S, https://www.heraldscotland.com/politics/23357709.shouldnt-men-wear-skirts-meet/ I'm the one in red and SkirtyScot is with me in the photo, Skirted84 cont...

Re: Actions Louder than Words.

I quite like the coat - but having too many coats - dare not ask which vendor. Here's the link, Coder, "too many" is just a matter of opinion and money I guess. https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/TexturaDesigns?ref=l2-about-shopname If I look at this post, while not logged in, I don't see a pic...

Re: Actions Louder than Words.

Okey Dokey BM, From the ground up Shoes from Hotter, soft and comfy, designed for women with foot challenges. The laces are elastic which effectively slip-ons. The skirt is from Boden, all round pleats and the top is just a plain old v-neck. The coat is from etsy, very much in the Sergeant Peppery s...

Actions Louder than Words.

Letter to the editors were being discussed and it inspired this. In case anyone hasn't noticed, I don't post in the pics and looks board. A simple reason is that it is private and my skirting is very public which is how I like it. Anyhow this is me out, about loud and proud yesterday, just like the ...

Re: NPR reporting style guide

In Swedish they did add a new construct a few years back: in between he(han) and she(hon) but it still feels weird both to use and read, it rolls oddly of the tounge. The s/he would be "hen", so its really pretty well thought out. Its probably only a matter of getting used to.. HI Seb Fro...

The good old conservative UK is remarkably liberal and that's not meant to be labour a political point either.
