Re: SkirtCafe is a family-friendly fashion forum.

Bottom line it's a vulgar term that was used in a derogatory manner. I don't think the OP knew that it was such an offensive word as he offered an apology, which I really do appreciate. Thank you. Other's can use the term as they see fit, I personally don't think vulgarity has a place in polite conv...

Re: SkirtCafe is a family-friendly fashion forum.

OldSalt, I'm not sure if you were aware but the term "tranny" is considered by many to be an offensive slur for transgendered individuals. It's also sometimes used colloquially to refer to the transmission in an automobile. "The tranny is shot. I dropped the pan and steel shavings fe...

Re: You've got somewhere to go, have anything to wear?

As an outsider who doesn't post much, it seems that almost every thread has someone quoting and correcting someone else. What's everyone trying to prove? Nobody cares that you have greater command over grammar than someone else or that you prefer a different brand of clothing than them. You just end...

Re: Importance

My priorities. 1) Compromise. Government is broken. Stop politicizing every issue for the benefit of some special interest's agenda. 2) Affordable education. I'm not promoting free education for everyone as I realize that education is not for everyone and the world needs workers with a variety of di...

They are referring to it as GCS or Gender Confirmation Surgery now. I also agree with your views.

skirted, I agree not practical for anybody. I believe the Mom was an author who wrote a book on minimizing waste. So I think it was all part of her image to sell more books. But kudos for her for practicing what she preached.

Re: What's a smart wrapper?

Great. More plastic waste. Just what the world needs. Alternatives? I saw a documentary on a family that produces close to zero waste. Their solution for this problem was to bring reusable containers with them to the store and only buy items available in bulk. For grains they had muslin bags and fo...

I get what you mean. I'm thinking a shorter skirt so the colors aren't so close together.

unfortunately, both require accounts. Swap is worse in that it uses Facebook. On a side note, been into dresses lately (integrated top so thats nice, unflattering cuts and extra material in the chest not so much) and visited some local resale stores. All 4 shops were awesome, no issues even with usi...

Re: Pants to skirt.

There are some tutorials on converting old jeans to a skirt both online and on YouTube so something could be done. Some things that come into mind are the fly, center/back seams, and taper as you mentioned. There is nothing you can do about the fly or center/back seams. I'm not sure how that would l...

Re: cannot stop the skirts, it's addicting

There are some looks on here that I personally feel do men in skirts no justice, I won't point them out because I don't want to isolate anyone, but that's just me and my opinion, which is really worth nothing on the matter, and rightfully so. As Dave said, it's just clothes, and... "who am I t...
