Re: Moving to San Francisco bay area

You might want to do a bit of research before moving to SF. The problem is not "rednecks" the problem is the city is too tolerant. It has become a magnet for homeless with numbers increasing significantly: https://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article/The-numbers-are-in-SF-homeless-populatio...

Re: Shocking news about socks and shoes

I always wear at least hose or in the winter trouser socks with ballet flats. Usually match the color of the shoes with the socks, Black Ballet shoes, hose and jeans are a popular wear that never has gotten spotted. Occasionally nude knee high with regular jeans. Although I did catch myself slipping...

Re: Who is Patagoniakid

One of the reasons I had asked, after noticing a spate of postings of younger people in skirts on Pinterest, many look like someone has taken a picture of a biological female and photoshopped a guys head on. I've certainly never seen nearly as many guys in skirts as he has postings. . .Humm?

Who is Patagoniakid

Hey everyone<

I've noticed a number of images of either boys or young men appearing in public in skirts on Pinterest. They are almost all attributed to someone who goes by the monkquer of "Patagoniakid?" Just curious, is he a member here or does anyone know anything about him?

Re: When will men wear women's clothing...

And that will not happen in our lifetimes. Those "Social constructs" that society generated long before any of us were born, came about for a number of practical reasons. Most of those reasons still exist in some fashion (pun intended). Wishing and hoping is not going to change the fact th...

Swollowtail skirts, A fem to far?

The other day at Goodwill (yes, they are back in the good graces, but that is another thread.) I had occasion to purchase a black mid length pleated skirt. The only difference, it is a "swollowtail" skirt. i.e. Longer in back than the front to expose legs. See attached image. I've not worn...

Re: Interesting discussion of men in skirts in the workplace

Hence, going back to the topic of whether MIS at the workplace should be allowed subject to restrictions forthcoming from safety rules, basically the same rules as why in the beginning of the industrialised era trousers replaced loin cloth, the use skirts by men in the workplace is a non-discussion...

How to deal with womens blouses (because we men are too tall

AS most of us are aware, womens blouses are typically about 1/4 to short, wearing blouses is getting the "Short Shrift" if you will. I have several cute blouses and most all have the same problem. How do you deal with the unbloused lower middle when wearing jeans, tight skirts or even Skor...

Re: Perhaps the wrong venue, but problem at GOODWILL

Perhaps it's a marketing ploy so that you will look through more items and hence possibly find something extra to buy, which you weren't originally looking for. Stevie, I had thought about that, It certainly uses less labor to not have to sort by size. In that respect they make more money. ...

Re: Perhaps the wrong venue, but problem at GOODWILL

ADDENDUM TO LAST Just spoke with their corporate office in Oklahoma city. I actually got to speak with a woman who listened to my complaints. Basically, their response is they "wanted to get more product out to the consumer." I explained to her that in many areas, the items were so tightly...

Re: Perhaps the wrong venue, but problem at GOODWILL

So, quick update from my July 30 post. I ventured back into Goodwill. Two stores in fact. Here is what has changed. -All the rack sizing tags are gone. Everything in intermixed but by color. That's it. Great, they have clothing separated by color now. But you have to search through the entire sectio...

Average cost for?

Just curious, (This does not seem to fit under sewing, as I am not a do it yourselfer, and would use a taylor to modify skirts) Has anyone turned to a professional to have pockets modified or inserted in skirts? I am sure that many of us have simular complaints about skirts and the pathetically smal...

Re: Miscellaneous Comments

Ordered a really cute skirt from Dickies. Since I had no idea how their sizing ran, I ran down to wally world and tried their skirts on. a 14 seemed perfect, yet the skirt I received is a bit too tight. . Now I have to send it back to exchange it. Hoping a 16 will be adequate, but I am wondering if ...
