Re: Holiday Cape Cod

Two years ago my wife and I were visiting Cape Cod and P-town. Before arriving I had no idea the town was well known for LGBT. One of the first persons we saw was a man wearing a kilt. We had a great holiday at the Cod and in Boston. Unfortunately, no skirting for me… Glad to hear you enjoyed your s...

Re: Our Wedding Both in Dress

This is so beautiful in so many ways. You and your wife are glowing up there. I guess this is a scenario many of us at the café only can dream about. What I find most impressive are the pictures with all the wedding guests, all done up, and celebrating the moment with you. Than you for posting!

Re: Turn up skirted for the first time

I agree with you all that wearing a skirt is a non-event. It is also no problem if they ask me why I wear a skirt. To be honest I actually want them to ask the question because then it’s much easier to continue the conversation naturally. The first time I went to my dentist in a skirt, she was polit...

Re: Turn up skirted for the first time

Hi Fred

Thank you for answering. I agree with you, and I don’t care what others think too. My question was more about how to handle other people that don’t know how to react towards us and that are uncomfortable with the situation because they are afraid to say the wrong things.

Turn up skirted for the first time

Since I still don’t dress around the house when my wife is around as a part of our agreement, I try to exploit every opportunity I have. I do a lot of things skirted, like doing the grocery shopping, going to the dentist, the bank and when I meet some friends for dinner meetings and many other activ...

Where had you been without the café or internet?

Since I was four or five years old I have always wanted to wear skirts or dresses. It was always a huge secret I kept away from everybody. I learned about transvestites a few times in the media. When the internet arrived I could finally learn that other men dressed in women’s clothes, but they alway...

Re: how short can you go in skirts

I like my skirts to be longer. My shortest skirts are just above the knees, but without doubt I prefer them to be flared and just below the knees or midi skirts. I like how these skirts moves as I walk, and constantly reminding me of the fact that I actually do wear a skirt.

Re: Getting more confidence

Kilty, that sounds great. Personally, I am not a big fan of the pencil skirts. I have a few, but they tend to get up my thighs as I walk so I have to adjust them all the time. You looked great in your skirt. Maybe I should give my pencil skirt a try again. I would love to see the hole expression in ...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

Hi ChrisM It is so great to hear from you again. I was a reader only on the skirt café for many years, and your posts were always one of my biggest inspirations. The way you are able to do your work at a large university and wearing skirts and heels at the same time are exactly the way I want to be ...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

Toddlers often comment how I dress to their parents. I have to smile because they make their parents embarrassed with the loud comments. They are only curious, and they see something that doesn’t fit in their understanding of the world. After the initial reaction, they are the most accepting. It has...

Re: What made you put on that first skirt.

I really can’t remember the first time I put on a skirt. I remember being jealous when my sister could go out in skirts and dresses. When the girls came to school in skirts I had to look at them and I imagined how it would be for me. As a child I sold lottery for my sports team and we rang the door ...

Re: Hail to the Handbag!

I totally agree with you Jeff. I have several purses, and in my opinion they make my outfit complete. My purses are some times plain brown leather and could easily been worn by men too. Other purses are clearly feminine, but if it suits the rest of my outfit I wear it with pride. If it looks feminin...

Re: I still don't like being skirted close to home.

I don’t have a problem going around my neighbourhood in a skirt, but my wife does. Of course she can’t dictate how I prefer to dress. The thing is we made an agreement some years ago where we both had to accept something we individually didn’t like. I try to keep my promise, but the agreement is soo...
