Re: Texans beware

Too bad you guys can't back up and see what the Cafe was at the beginning. Yes, I am an original from the 90's when this was Tom's Cafe who doesn't care much for delusional nonsense, and there is a lot of that here now. People are free to believe whatever they want to, but believing patent damn fool...

Re: Nice article that mentions Skirtcafe favorably

You can be more understanding if you realize "current social philosophy" has different definitions than biological definitions. This is similar to a cook calling rhubarb a fruit while a biologist would say it is not a fruit. We just need to make it clear what definitions we are using. Ind...

Re: Nice article that mentions Skirtcafe favorably

Yonkas, as I said, delusional. For the future, you should understand that I (and many other people) find curt ipse-dixit responses that don't address the arguments they are responding to rude. If you didn't wish to engage in an invitation to a discussion, you could have said nothing at all, or, if ...

Re: The things people will say

There are two here ( that I know for sure ) understand the nature of the argument. They and I will continue by email. My address is public information. For the rest, I'll leave you with this truth that you will doubtless dismiss out of hand: there are some things that you not only do not know, but c...

Re: The things people will say

What version of the Bible do you read?? There are so many that I really wonder which one is the real Word of God.. Most Christians agree that when Jesus died that was the end of the Law and the beginning of Grace. But each person that reads the Bible, they think it is the real Word of God, some do ...

There is nothing wrong with ignoring passages we don't align with, after all, virtually everybody does this.
There is everything wrong with that.
I bet you do it all the time.
Is a snide remark the best you can do?

Re: The things people will say

It is true that the ceremonial laws, dietary laws, and such were specifically ended by the sacrifice of Christ. See what I mean? Those laws are still in the bible, but you've come up with a way to justify ignoring them. No offence, but I've not "come up with" anything. What I've said is w...

Re: The things people will say

Let me also observe that there is a paucity of intelligent exegesis of scripture. It has become fashionable to cherry pick or entirely ignore it and still claim saving faith. Jesus comments in Matthew 7 on people who are convinced that they are saved when in fact Jesus NEVER knew them. They were nev...

Re: The things people will say

Well, the scriptures are pretty clear on crossdressing and being an effeminate man Yes they are. As for pastoral robes, I believe it is commanded in Exodous for men to wear trousers when approaching God (apparently they did exist during biblical times) . No. There is no such command. Neither the He...

...fact or truth (the two are astonishingly different). I had a grad school professor try to run that by us. It is nonsense, of course. "Science is the pursuit of facts, not truth. A scientist leaves the ownership of truth to philosophers and theologians. The currency of science is the provabl...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

We are in Myrtle Beach for a week. I have been all over town, skirted of course, and not a raised eyebrow. My favorites are a zip front UK, and a nylon Spartan UK. I've also shown my For Joseph double circle denim and a camo utility kilt. No one cares. I love it.

Yep....
How very tolerant of you. A woman backs her beliefs with action and people who hate having their own beliefs questioned ---skirts-- are quick to condemn. The irony is laughable.

Re: Gun control

It's true that fundamental Christians aren't really killers, but how much hate and anger do they sow? What are the repercussions of that rigid thinking? . Ray, there is a 'fundamental' lack of understanding about what a Christian is. The social gospel so prevalent in our time bears scant resemblanc...
