Well said Mike. Crisp, clear, to the point. 'Nuff said.

Re: a blog on style

On the topic of "Dress Code", I have reviewed my company's policy and it does not reference any gender roles in what is considered appropriate or inappropriate. It reads in part: "Acceptable attire includes (but is not limited to) - Docker-style or dress pants; dress capris; blouses, ...

Re: Can skirts coexist with a belly?

Hi Brad. I suffer from the same affliction as you. Mine is more of a spare tire around the midsection. We used to call them "saddle bags". One thing I've done is buy a shaper. Spanx style. It looks like a man's sleeveless undershirt but has a ton of elastic in it to hold the protruding par...

Re: Hello from Chicago (Berwyn) Illinois USA

Hi Denny. I too suffer from the same affliction as you, a belly bigger than it should be. One thing I've tried successfully is wearing a shaper cami under my shirt. It's pretty snug, but not uncomfortable. It kinda helps to keep the excess parts held in and gives you a better overall shape. I highly...

Re: A missed opportunity

I honestly think there was not need for any more conversation. Yes, I'm wearing a skirt. Why, because I like wearing them. Enough said. By making the encounter as matter-of-fact as possible, you've implanted the notion to him that guys can wear skirts. And do so every day. Entirely normal behaviour....

Re: Skirting Films

One of the tracks played was Hear Me Calling by Slade. I'm very familiar with their hits, but seeing this track being played live has given me a new respect for these old rockers. The reason for mentioning it here - take a look at the clothes, particularly the shoes that the guys are wearing. Certa...

Re: Recent visit to the Goodwill store

I have found that Burlington stores in the US have a good selection of skirts at very reasonable prices. Same with Winners in Canada. I have a few skirts from each store.

Lord lightnin' jeezus by, if them fellers think they're breakin' gender stereotypes, I got a codfish what'll fit right upside their collective 'eads and teach 'em diffrent. What they're doing us usin' gender stereotypes to get in the news. Which ain't hard to do. Every time old missus Crankshire up...

Re: Skirts’ Demise?

...What can we do to get more summer light weight, knee length skirts on the market... Wait. Fashion goes in 20-year cycles. Nothing's permanent if you give it enough time. Maybe if women stop wearing skirts completely, they'll become more acceptable for men. This sounds like a great opportunity fo...

I very much like the style, very professional (from one finance guy to another). And I love the shoes. What brand and where did you get them?

Kilty I followed Crystal James too till she dropped off the web. I hope she's doing ok. I too was a follower of Crystal when she had her blogspot "A Bea-YOU-tiful You". Prior to her transition, I found her an inspiration to guys who like to wear skirts. Last I saw, she had a closed group ...

Re: Sumptuary Culture

I think this is fantastic! My takeaway from the website is that "Skirts are Unisex". And that's how they are being marketed. That is new and different. To me, what the people look like or styling of the skirt is not relevant. This site makes a bold statement that we all are making - skirts...

Re: unisex clothing.

OS, going back to your original question and your photo, I really like the style. It's very similar to what I like to wear, business casual. You asked whether or not you would be at a disadvantage wearing a skirt suit to a meeting. In my opinion, that little bit of trepidation can easily be overcome...
