Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

Next question, Uncle Al....Was 'she' skirted?

Looking recently through two large chothes retailers here there wasn't a skirt to be seen anywhere.. They apparently all wear trews or leggings with tops now.

Naw, That trick only works with ould steel rims. On proper alloys similar things are used for inflating the tyre pressure.....Honest!

Re: Custom skirts

Hi RK, Re: Crossdresser.NL. Inevitably they sell all sorts of costumes to make a buck or two, but right at the bottom there's a section where they invite punters to submit their measurements and design ideas for 'ordinary' stuff removed from costumes. They have made up two skirt-suits for me, which ...

Re: Custom skirts

Read your first post, Engineer. Welcome & all that. I see you're based in that large settlement on the North bank of the Great River, the Thames. When we rowed a coxed quad from Lechlade to Londinivm we noted that it would probably merit a second visit. Over the years I have chalked up some experien...

Not at all funny, but the Russians would admit that it takes a lot of inbuilt secretive ineptitude at the top level of command.

Re: New family member

So have I. Up to recently we had four, two in the 'cat barn' and two quite separate in the garage block. One of the garage cats died and the other, always a sociable puss has taken to coming into the house. Just tonight she has climbed onto our conservatory roof and from there gained access to my up...

Re: Corona Virus

But it's amazing how music brings people together. For 7 years I lived in a North German town of about 30K people, 2/3rds Evangelisch (Lutheran) and 1/3 Katholish. I sang with a Shanty-choir which performed all over the country and in the Netherlands & Denmark too and it didn't matter a toss which r...

Re: Skirts on the F1 Grid?

How about hovercraft? That famous pic. of Marylin Monroe standing over an updraught of hot air from a grid went 'viral'. Hovercraft skirts are designed to hold the compressed air in and levitate the craft. I remember B&W films of 'Old Mother Reilly' in my childhood. 'She' was played by a bloke and I...

An impressive list, Fm34. In the old days of course a Gentleman on safari or serious hike would have a team of native bearers carrying all that clobber, leaving one free to wear just a Solar Topee, light safari-suit, a pair of binos, notebook and a stout walking stick.

Re: Skirts on the F1 Grid?

FG, It's not so hot here as in CR. Therefore the ambient temp won't melt the '99' so fast. Also if it is reasonably warm I stick the car's aircon on 'Low', which can reduce the cabin temp to 14 deg C. Brrrrh! I little shop on my way home from work sells generous tall '99's and I have just five miles...

Re: Skirts on the F1 Grid?

Try approaching a roundabout going downhill in traffic while driving a 1928 Alvis 1250. It requires planning and concentration like a Lunar landing. Boy, don't you learn to double de-clutch down through the gears, and how!. The guy in front has servo brakes and it pays to regard his boot as being fu...
