Re: Man wears skirt to work and ‘can finally be himself’

Hello stevej180,

If that's what you want to do; then do it.

The first time I wore a skirted suit to work it was a complete and total non-event.

Now I wear skirts or dresses to work every day.

Re: Antonio Marras

At least the male models in skirts or dresses weren't wearing pants under them.

As far as the mixed message of the choice of models goes, I saw some place that some fashion houses have men wear their women's lines on the catwalks because they can't find enough women and the men come cheaper!

Re: Sexual Fetish or Gender Expression?

Oh good Lord! Would all of you please get out of your own way, stop ruminating and stressing about what the fashion industry could do to make it more comfortable for you to go out in public dressed as you please and JUST DO IT! I admit and agree wholeheartedly that wearing your womenswear publicly i...

Re: A Sincere Request of Help from Those Who Disagree with My Politics

Hello Dennis, You're right about the folks on Capital Hill being able to add unrelated items to bills. As I remember my high school "Problems in Democracy" class, only one of the two houses has rules allowing it to tack on unrelated amendments. That was awhile ago, to say the least, so, who knows ma...

Re: Sexual Fetish or Gender Expression?

Dave has a long history of point-of-view pushing when it comes to the trans-* agenda Carl, for an intelligent, educated guy you sure seem to be challenged when it comes to reading for understanding. As I have said a number of times, I know far more transsexuals than most people and I am active in t...

Re: Strange and unusual skirts

Funny you should bring up colors. Every time I open my closet I'm reminded of how many times I've said one of the joys of womenswear is the great colors and the variety of colors women have at their disposal and that I've got so many black or grey dresses and so many white blouses! In fact, at the h...

Carl,

I agree with your longer list of problems, I was just responding to the order of priority that Moonshadow listed those few items.

Re: A Sincere Request of Help from Those Who Disagree with My Politics

Like Faldaguy said. Btw, I never said that a $15 minimum wage would trigger a 17% increase in anything; those economists posed the most extreme hypothetical situation and looked at the whole supply chain and it only brought the $1 burger to a $1.17. And even if the $15 minimum wage were to be instit...

Re: Stealth Skirt trick

Generally, I feel that each of us should find our own style and dress and act according to our comfort level. But when it comes to sewing two fake pleats into the front of a skirt with the intention of getting people to mistake it for shorts, I have to agree whole-heartedly with Sinned's and Old Sal...

Re: jury duty

Two years ago I was summoned to jury duty; ultimately to serve on a jury hearing a case of child molestation. By that time I was wearing skirts and dresses everywhere, including work, so after a little internal turmoil, I decided to wear them for jury duty as well. Before I was done, I wore a skirt ...

Re: Sexual Fetish or Gender Expression?

Welcome Stevej180! I really appreciate your candor and self-awareness. Having had the desire to wear skirts and dresses my whole conscious life, publicly crossdressed for about 20 years and now, after taking a 10-year hiatus from wearing any kind of clothing from the women's department, wear so-call...

Re: A Sincere Request of Help from Those Who Disagree with My Politics

Priorities... 1) Universal Healthcare 2) Fix the tax code 3) Then we can worry about bankrupting small businesses. Perhaps in a rational world, that would be the correct order. Unfortunately, with our current political realities I have to say a $15 per hour minimum wage comes first for 2 reasons: 1...

Re: A Sincere Request of Help from Those Who Disagree with My Politics

Every well-done study of the minimum wage has come to exactly the same conclusion that Carl outlined; a higher and steadily increasing minimum wage benefits EVERYONE. The widely predicted increases in prices don't happen; businesses big and small trim their fat so they can pay the same higher wages ...
