Re: New guy from Ohio

Welcome, it's always exciting to get a new member :bounce: I have have half a dozen kilts that I bought either in the charity shop or on eBay. Without exception they are all tighter fit than other garments that are supposed to be the same size. My take on it is that they are not trying to flatter yo...

Re: Skirt Do's & Don'ts

These aren't rules ....... just friendly suggestions. Some could save a lot of embarassment :) Without wishing to labour a point that I made earlier, on this occasion I feel I have to respectfully disagree. Firstly, whilst some could be read as suggestions, there were many subjective arbitrary rule...

I only use it to lock small screws etc. into place.
Does that work? Good to know if it does for when I misplace the thread locker...
My father started off life as a mechanic and he always used nail varnish to lock screws. Many times I've done the same. Yes, it does work.

Re: Suspender skirt

When I saw the title I was expecting something more like this: https://i.etsystatic.com/11380729/r/il/f95c63/801141762/il_fullxfull.801141762_eal3.jpg Language barrier!! I would definitely go along with "Pinafore dress" for what has been shown. A jumper dress is different again here. It's knitted an...

Re: Skirt Do's & Don'ts

As suggested by Jeff , here's a thread on things you should or shouldn't do when wearing a skirt (that wouldn't apply when wearing trousers). 1) Do remember to check that your back hem isn't tucked into your underpants before leaving a toilet cubicle. 2) Don't sit straight down on a plastic chair t...

Re: Storage of skirts

Finding things is not a problem as I am usually creating a look rather than looking for something specific that I know I have, therefore I am looking for colours, textures etc. Btw, that's actually well less than half my wardrobe and I do sometimes forget I have something until I rediscover it whils...

Re: Storage of skirts

That's impressive. 60 Sk/M sounds good as I would only need 3 metres. There should be 178 mini-skirts here. Each section is 60cm wide, so that's 3m of skirts, i.e. the same as you probably require. My other skirts, that are generally less susceptible to creasing, are stacked on shelves or in a draw...

Re: For those that have tried nail polish and found it too difficult to DIY

A little fashion tip if you want to put nail varnish on just before going out.... put your coat on first!

In the past I used to get ready, paint my nail then ruin them trying to put a coat on without smudging them.

Re: Feet, how do you stand?

interestingly, though, when I walk on level ground I find that I use the "model catwalk" technique, placing each foot directly in front of the other more or less at my body center. My chiropractor said that's good for my spine, or something, so I make a conscious effort not to waddle when I walk. O...

Feet, how do you stand?

A couple of weeks ago I was at the pub with friends and the woman that was with my friend was so please to note that I was standing in the same manner that she does (basically 3rd position in ballet - one foot placed in front of the other with the heel of the front foot near the arch of the other). ...

Re: AGE APPROPIATE

I'm not sure that age really makes a lot of difference other than it tends to change the body's shape and features, which may affect what clothing suits. When it comes to appropriateness then is that not more to do with the occasion or who you are likely to be meeting up with? At work they generally...

Yes, just be bold with it. Something like this perhaps?

Click and collect sends your package a designated local convenience store, or similar, and then sends your mobile a text when it is ready to collect. It means you don't need to wait at home for the delivery. Not every seller offers it. With returns you can usually take them back to the same store an...
