Re: A new brand of skirts.
This looks like the cheap stuff sold on sites like Alibaba, Temu etc.
Sizing is probably Asian sizing as well, and looking at it, I'd say it's probably aimed at the cosplay/party costume etc market, and wouldn't be of sufficient quality to be worn as an every day garment.

Alexei Navalny. Most depressing hearing of the death of such a brave and dedicated man. Most certainly disappointing to hear of his death, as somebody who presented an alternative to the current president of Russia. What I heard was "sudden death" which unfortunately could mean anything u...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large
Earlier this month I was travelling with my wife and 14 month old son, so 3 flights wearing my Oz Kilts hybrid utility kilt (purple insets in the pleats), I did not have any trouble from airport security apart from forgetting to remove my belt before the first flight and having the buckles etc keepi...

Well, definitely not cold here, yesterday basically misty rain showers, like cloud to seal level, 30°C, heavy overcast, no wind, everything is damp, right now it's 4.30am, 27.4°C and 98% humidity, dew point temp 26.0°C, I've had maybe 2 hrs sleep. Sweat city. Grumble over.

As for fuel economy, my Toyota Corolla (1800cc 6 speed manual) achieves approximately 39 MPG (European gallons) which equates to 32.9 miles to the US gallon, that sitting at 110 to 115 kmh (70 MPH = 112 kmh). I'm happy with that. 1 European gallon = 4.5L and 1 US gallon = 3.785L. EVs are really only...

Similar but yet different to the US in some areas down under, where due to the fees charged by the banks and credit card companies, there are many businesses that will not accept EFTPOS or debit/credit card payments for transactions less than about $10, (advertised by a sign that says " Minimum...

Re: Is anyone else trying to learn a language?
I'm trying to pick up some of my wife's local dialect from her home region (Waray), plus Tagalog, the common language throughout the Philippines, which is she is from originally. I'll never likely be able to fluently speak all of the 5 languages she speaks though (Her local dialect, the dialect of a...

It’s 40 degrees where we are today. My wife and I are out “shopping” and I’m wearing a black utility kilt with black leggings / that go well with my black leather jacket. Warm and comfortable. From that, I'm assuming that you mean your temperature was 40°F, not 40°C.... In 40°C the utility kilt mig...

School Prizegiving performance.
I came across this one the other week in an online news site from New Zealand, where, at the school end of year prize giving, the school orchestra performed a brilliant rendition of Led Zepellin's Stairway To Heaven. While the performers were all in school uniform, you can see that one of the male g...

Seb, You have some interesting work there, and it would be very handy to be able to make items to your own custom measurements and styles. I haven't done any sewing since I was at school, say aside from sewing on buttons etc, about 36 or 37 years. My mum used to have a sewing machine but I have no i...

Still warm downunder......
The next week, highs between 28°C and 33°C and showers most days, overnight lows 22°C to 24°C. Currently 1am, and a cooler 24°C outside.
Fairly typical SEQLD summer weather.

Spare parts.....
Last time I needed spare parts, (additional parts, actually) they didn't have them in stock, to they were ordered in with next day delivery, meaning installation had to be postponed a day.
Now I have sometimes have troubles with airport metal detectors.
