Re: Stylist in a dress

My understanding of the purpose of this site, and its forerunner, Tom's Cafe, was to extend fashion choices for men to include unbifurcated garments, but within a strictly masculine context. In the eyes of many men, any skirted garment (kilts included) is going to be considered non-masculine. These...

Re: Any Barefooters?

I usually go barefoot in the house, and occasionally when in the yard or collecting the mail. My wife is much more of a barefooter. She'd love to go barefoot everywhere, but for some odd reason, stores and restaurant dislike it. It's not like it is any less hygienic than wearing shoes, after all, yo...

Welcome the the cafe! I confess I don't own any kilts, and have a habit of wearing whatever skirt suits me, frills n 'all :D

Yup, I'm on google+, although I don't have a skirts circle.....yet. I often post skirted photos of myself online without caring what other people think. You can find me at nicothoe@gmail.com

Pockets, or Lack Thereof

One of the biggest problems I face when wearing skirts is suddenly finding myself without pockets. So where do I put my keys, my wallet, my must-stay-constantly-connected-to-the-internet smart phone? A lot of the time I just casually deposit said items into my wife's handbag, but when she is not aro...

Re: Needing to vent my frustration

I think this a common frustration that is often brought up on this forum. The truth is, the only restriction we have is the one we place on our self. It takes guts, courage, confidence and determination to finally throw caution to the wind and put on a skirt. You can't change people's attitudes over...

Re: Would like your opinion

Skirt looks good to me. As with any printed skirt, the real trick is finding some to wear with it. As Carl mention, a black tshirt is always a safe colour to go with. Otherwise, stock up on a variety of different color tshirts - white, black, blues, reds, purples, etc, and try to find the one that l...

Re: How Do Skirts Work In The Summer?

Around the house, I wear sarongs. They are a wonderful way to keep cool and feeling fresh. Probably not suitable for wearing outside in public, unless you're not afraid to expose a little bit of leg on occasion. I have a several long cotton skirts that work extremely well in hot weather. Naturally, ...

Re: Skirting with the S.O.

I also don't see what is "girly" about the skirt. I often wear skirts that many would consider too feminine, whether it is because: 1) the color is wrong (too bright and colorful), 2) there are sequins attached that sparkle in the sunlight, 3) the string ties have bells that jingle 4) ther...

Re: Style Guide

While the first skirts I bought were solid black in color, I now have skirts of all colors - brown, red, green, blue, white, and yes, even pink. Some of the skirts are patterned, and I have a favorite wrap skirt with a black, red, and orange fire motif . (Ahh, it's perfect for the full-moon fire-jam...

Re: Time to stop lurking...

Welcome!!! My wife has gotten used to my skirts, has stolen/borrowed a few of mine, and is even going to crochet one for me....after she has finished her own, of course! That said, I still think she prefers me in pants. I have never been much of the 'strong Alpha-male type' either - don't care much ...

Re: British Humor!!!!!!!!

Probably the best British comedy I have seen in a while is Misfits , although it may not be everyone's cup of tea.

Sorry folks, but the series is not yet available in the US.

Re: Creative Writing - Help Please

Hi Charlotte. For me, the big thing about wearing a skirt for the first time was knowing I was going to be noticed. I was never afraid of what people may say about me, just that they were saying it. Or at least you think they are. For most of my life, I have always preferred to blend into the backgr...
