Canvas/denim unpleated skirt with big pockets
For a while now I've been working on sewing a skirt of a certain style that appeals to me and I haven't been able to find in online shops. I've gotten it to the point where I'm pretty happy with it, so I wanted to share the results. My wife took some photos of me in the latest version last weekend: ...

Re: Skirt search
This Austrian company has some pretty great looking sarongs: http://ufash.com/unisex_fashion/english/ Their sarong product photos are all with women, although described as unisex (as sarongs are naturally, of course). Interestingly, their mission statement is about making unisex clothing, and skirt-...

Re: Why don’t more men wear skirts?
skirtyscot and crfriend, thanks for the encouragement. I'm probably hypersensitive about theoretical harassment because of some bad experiences I've had in the past, even though they had nothing to do with clothing. Working on improving this!

Re: Minnesota Newbie
Thanks, everyone! My wife wore a simple, modern red dress to the wedding and is very supportive of men wearing skirts. She and I share a love for rejecting arbitrary conventions. :-) We didn't have a wedding party, but our families dressed fairly traditionally. Caultron, my wife and I thought that o...

Minnesota Newbie
Hi all, I'm a software developer in my thirties, from Minneapolis, Minnesota (US). I first got into the idea of men wearing skirts when a coed recreational ultimate disc team I was on randomly decided to have a "everyone wears skirts or dresses" game (we had a different theme each week). I...

Re: Why don’t more men wear skirts?
A few reasons I think more men don't wear skirts, some of which have already been mentioned in this thread: - Cultural inertia. Men only see women wearing skirts, so it doesn't occur to them that it could be an option for them. - Marketing. The vast majority of skirts are marketed as women's product...

Wedding Skirt
I wore a Macabi skirt to my wedding last year. wedding01small.png wedding03small.png There were a few raised eyebrows and curious questions, but by and large our guests seemed to like it. I think people tend to give brides and grooms a ton of leeway on their wedding day -- which is one of the reason...

Tights work well. I also find over-the-knee socks to be a bold look.
