Colourful skirts

Does anyone else like wearing skirts awash with colour? I just bought this beauty from Ebay: s-l1600.jpg This is a big departure from my usual dark, solid coloured skirts, but something just connected me to it! I knew I had to have it and I can't wait to wear it. I'll team it with some strappy stile...

Re: Skirts worn with a corset

Do you buy women’s corsets or corsets specifically designed for men? I’ve never tried it, but I like the idea of wearing a corset with a skirt and heels.

Re: Has the attention on transgendered individuals helped us?

This is good news from the Supreme Court. Effectively in the USA, people are allowed to be who they are and wear what they want accordingly. Makes no difference whether you are male/female/trans/non binary or whatever. Just be yourself and no employer is allowed to discriminate against you on that b...

Re: How old were you . . . . ?

I was 44 when I discovered skirts. I'd been wearing high heels on and off since my mid 20s (in public) but for some reason, I never thought about extending it to include a skirt. No idea why, despite the fact I'd made the leap of saying that I could wear whatever footwear I fancied. It was only out ...

Re: Coming Soon: Gucci’s Gender-fluid Collection

I personally think this is a huge step in the right direction. The big fashion houses are finally realising that the guard is changing, and that the up and coming generations do not want to be put in a box labelled male or female and restriction what you can and cannot wear. It is nothing but a soci...

Re: Why we wear skirts and how does it feel?

Agree with everything that has been said so far. Skirts are awesome to wear with how they look and feel. Until I started to openly wear skirts (and heels) in public, I felt like a 2nd class citizen as I would see women openly expressing themselves freely through their clothes and nobody would dare c...

Re: Leather skirts

I can wear the highest heels out there - cause I have been wearing heels for so long - and I wear heels all the time pretty much - I prefer to avoid platforms because I like my shoe to have no weight - which is the lovely thing about a pump/sandal or a mule - they have no weight yet they have that ...

Re: Leather skirts

There is nothing like wearing real leather and it is an experience every time you slip into it! Faux leather just doesn’t do it for me hence I won’t buy it. Like most things you buy, you get what you pay for and although real leather is expensive, it’s worth it. That said, I bought the skirt I was w...

Re: Leather skirts

Thanks for the compliment, I really enjoyed wearing the whole outfit: it’s Interesting regarding your comments on platforms. I prefer wearing platforms as it’s an easy way to wear a much higher heel but still being relatively comfortable to walk on! The heels I wore today with the skirt were nearly ...

Leather skirts

Anybody here like wearing leather skirts? I wore my gorgeous leather skirt from M&S shopping today, combined with sky high stiletto boots. It was a "man in black" look, but I think it worked quite well. It's an unusual skirt in that it has 2 front cargo pockets and 2 side pockets, but it makes it al...

Re: Wearing high heels

I think what heels you wear depends on your experience with them and confidence. It's very important that when you walk out the door wearing heels, you are 100% confident and proficient at walking in them! Practice, practice, practice. Personally, I am happy to wear block heels, wedges or stilettos ...

A step in the right direction

Interesting to see more designers and starting to market their clothes as gender fluid which is a positive move. If nothing else, they've realised that trying to attract the attention of the other 50% of the population makes good business sense! https://www.vogue.com/fashion-shows/fall-2020-ready-to...

Denim dress

Does anyone here wear denim dresses? I just bought one tonight and plan to wear it tomorrow and it will be the first time i've ever worn a dress in public which although it shouldn't be a big deal, kind of feels like it is (even though it is just a skirt with a top attached to it). It was so nice to...

Re: Fashion media promoting skirts for men

If you do search quite carefully, you will find quite a few collections with men in skirts and dresses. But, to my earlier point, what is frustrating is that for a retailer, there is virtually zero commercial risk in marketing a skirt for a man. What is the worst thing that can happen? Men don't buy...

Re: Clothing envy - does it dissipate?

I was envious of women for a while, but then I came to realise that women fought for their rights (and still do). Men need to wake up and do the same. Interestingly. this is starting to come from the younger generation (generation Z) who have realised the stupidity of gender separation and putting p...
