Re: Off on holiday skirted.

You should not have any problems, I have travelled abroad several times and never had any problems either outward or returning through other countries airports.
Think how many people from all cultures and backgrounds they see every day.

The right time is now

I am in my mid seventies and have been wearing skirts and dresses for about 15 years. I got a skirt and a dress to ease the post op pain from groin surgery and I immediately thought that I had been missing out all of these years and should have been wearing skirts from early childhood. However, comi...

Re: Interesting Photographs

Yes! I have seen a 360 rainbow in a Spitfire over the Scottish Highlands near Ben Lomond. Unfortunately, cameras were not allowed as the control runs were open and directly underneath me. There is a video but it only shows my face. The bow exactly followed the curve of the wings trailing edge and th...

Re: Bear Grylls

I am not Scottish but I have several kilts and wear the expensive outfit to formal events. I do not care what people think, I will wear what I like and will not pay any attention to peer pressure. I hate suits and got rid of my last one many years ago, kilts are better to wear and look better than t...

Re: Have you still got your first skirt?

Yes, from 15 years ago, a corduroy 'deck skirt' from a yacht supply company. Still in regular use and I bought 2 more as they were closing down. Really good for cold/cool weather hillwalking. All 3 were dirt cheap (£6/8) and will last forever.

Re: Have you still got your first skirt?

Yes, I got a cheap dress and a skirt on Ebay whilst I was suffering a great deal of pain after groin surgery. The skirt is still used in cooler weather but the dress is a very tight fit (must have shrunk). This was about 15 years ago and one of the best things I have done, it eased the pain and i no...

Re: Ideal outfit

Already done this a few years ago for my 70th birthday. went to a dressmaker and she made me a lovely green dress and I had "GROWING OLD DISGRACEFULLY" on the front and "NOW SHUT UP AND GET THE DRINKS IN" on the back. After a really good meal the women staff were really keen to c...

philanthropy

In the 50's, 60's, and 70's we always saw America as being more civilised with better cars, homes etc and part of that was philanthropy where the rich would give generously for the common good. Is this still the case?

Re: Hi All

Wonderful story which almost exactly matches my own experience. I too have a wonderful supportive wife and started wearing skirts and dresses because of post op pain from groin surgery. I wear skirts and dresses as a matter of course and only wear trousers in bad weather. Travel has never been a pro...

Re: Skirts in front of alot of people

I too have flown a number of times skirted and not had a problem. Norway, Sweden and a flight change in Copenhagen with no worries.
Just before Covid struck we were planning a holiday in arctic Norway which would have involved several flights in the far north, not at all worrying.

Re: Hiking Skirts - Who Wears What?

Similar here, I have a Craghoppers Nosilife lightweight skirt for warmer weather hillwalking and longer, warmer skirts for cooler conditions. Travelled widely in the uk and scandinavia with absolutely no problems. I was going to buy another Nosilife but they changed the design. My skirt has pockets ...

Re: Happy 40th Birthday Moonshadow!!

Happy birthday Moon Aah! the 1812, I have a cd of Ashkenazyand the St Petersburg Phil featuring a chorus, bells and real cannons fired by an artillery battery. Although not on vinyl it is the best recording I have heard and the chorus gives it depth. It is a Decca recording from 1998 but I do not hav...
