I like the look of the shorter length. In my opinion most people get their kilts too long--"two inch rise," and all that. Plus the sheer weight of all that heavy wool, especially in an 8-yarder, just drags it low.

I saw an item in a police site that the 5.11 kilts are coming back! No details about when or what patterns/colors, but keep an eye out for them. :D

For me, finding it in the right size/proportion would be the problem. Even 3xl would be too small in the shoulders for me, and too big on the bottom. For slim dudes that style might be fine.

Vermont Country Store has tee shirt nightshirts that fit me but they are too short to be a day style.
