My first skirted bike ride
Just got back from my first, skirted bike ride. Never had sufficient courage to try it before. I rode a BMX-style bike with smaller than full-size wheels. Nominally 20" (406). A folding bike with handlebars and saddle at adult height. The top of the frame is 25" high so I had to lean the b...

Re: More gender neutral retail
My Google searches revealed only the Oxford and Guildford branches outside London. A bit odd having more than one map of branches. Glad to hear there are more, not so much because I want to go there, but because so many shops are closing. Urban Outfitters website team need to sort out their store l...

Re: More gender neutral retail
This time it goes beyond trousers for women. Initially I thought just in America but I think Urban Outfitters also in UK. https://wwd.com/fashion-news/fashion-scoops/urban-outfitters-adds-wildfang-1236204140/ Yes. Urban Outfitters have 10 stores/shops around the London area then mail order for the ...

Re: Video and commentary on skirts doesn't leave men out.
This news entertainment item on skirts is light and interesting but does give a nod to MIS toward the end and mentions a book that some might find interesting. https://www.cbs.com/shows/video/Z_7cYdiFlGo1q7BFZ5VTq4uSMUetszff/ I found that your link to the video on CBS Sunday Morning - "The lon...

Re: Women wearing skirts
I have no qualms calling them mini skirts but perhaps if I said it was a cargo skirt (as it had patch pockets) it might have less stigma for a man's garment. I think she was being friendly and it was obviously a skirt, hence no seam. Perhaps was being diplomatic asking what I called it rather than ...

Re: Sightings "in the wild"
Saw a chap in a tartan kilt (Buchanan tartan) with white socks in Walthamstow, London. He stared at me, even though I was in an invisible denim skirt with boots. You didn't mention what type of legwear you had on, new2skirts. I suspect that given the time of year, it was continuous from your boots ...

Great pictures moonshadow, especially the sunset.
I'm pleased that you've both found the area in which you want to make a home.

Re: Article on masculinity, including skirts etc
I suspect that all three garments of the Skruit may need 'taking in" to continue to look great, together as an outfit?
Not just the skirt, STEVIE.

Re: Overall skirts
Evening, folks! I'm currently in the process of converting an old pair of Key Overalls into a dress/skirt/thing/I don't know exactly... What would you fellows recommend to make this a more comfortable thing to wear? Some form of stretchy denim on the skirt, perhaps? There is a thread in the "S...

Re: Kilting Diversity
For those that don't like the word "skirt" when talking about a man in such a garment can use the term "MUG". Stands for "Men's Unbifurcated Garment". I don't have any issue with the term "skirt" when I wear one. A kilt is an unbifurcated garment, so is a ski...

400 yr old tartan - Recreated
I was hoping that they would show a colored depiction of what it would have looked like, but I guess eventually someone will Here's a story in The Guardian that shows pictures of the tartan now that it has been recreated. :D https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/jan/22/oldest-known-scottish-tart...

Re: Cash or plastic?
Here in the UK, the bank debit cards which one would use for ATM cash withdrawals are used for contactless transactions in shops, up to £100. The card is held against the retailer's card machine to complete the transaction. Above £100, one has to put the card in the retailer's card machine slot and ...
