Re: High Profile Kilt

Just had to mention that King Charles III wore a kilt today, both to meet the First Minister of Scotland and to attend the formal vigil for his mother at St Giles' Cathedral. The pattern is identified as the Prince Charles Edward Stewart tartan. https://wp.inews.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/SEI...

Re: First, Skirts Vanish. Now, Tights (Pantyhose)

The original poster of this thread, linked the shortage of skirts in UK clothing outlets to a reduction in the different varieties of tights (pantyhose) out on display. I wonder if the reduction in the variety of tights (pantyhose) out on display might be down to the unseasonably warm British summer...

What about the guy in the background with the red gloves, white dress or skirt, or....?
I think that is a photographer's assistant holding a mirror or reflector, in his black rubber-palmed, red utility-gloved hands. The mirror is propped up by one of the guy's shoes.
For a lighting effect?

What if you attached the lower part (the legs) of this garment to the hem of a matching mini skirt? What would it be? There would be no inseam but would have separate legs. What should it be called?

Re: What feminine items do you wear?

I bought my first patterned skirt, but I haven't worn it out of the house yet. Emmm, that does fit the description of a kilt. However, I presume you mean a rather different type of pattern. Same advice as normal, just give it a go and if it makes you uncomfortable, ditch it. In terms of likely reac...

Update on the original story.
The school which banned boys from wearing shorts, but allowed them to wear skirts instead, has announced it is now reviewing the policy.

Re: That rare male compliment

The other day, I was at the supermarket skirted. As I piled my food shopping on the belt at the till, a guy passing by to go to another till, said that he really liked my outfit. :) I replied that it was nice to receive a compliment. For the record, I was wearing a similar outfit to the one linked h...

Re: Much skirt wearing over the jubilee?

Would have thought it was a great opportunity for men to skirt up a bit, but seen nothing apart from doing my bit. Thinking flags worn as skirts etc. I have a union-flag skort which I wore as a man to badminton, but the rest of the weekend I've worn it as a transvestite with some good feedback and ...

Too far out for me, Daryl. I'm having fun trying to imagine what would be worn above them, more particularly in terms of the colour palette.
I feel sure that SkirtsDad could easily put together some outfits that would look great with that footwear. :)

K1 Black Fashion Kilt Hire Outfit

I notice that a kilt hire company has an outfit available called a " K1 Black Fashion Kilt Hire Outfit ", with a black jacket and a black kilt. Black waistcoat as well. BTW Kilthire also trades under the name of Eight Yards . They do made to measure, so they would sell the same, all black outfits. E...

I find drag off-putting too and as others have said, I feel that it isn't helpful to the men in skirts 'cause'. :(
If cause is the right word to apply to us skirted folk.

Re: Another Daily Mail rant

The problems here are: 1. The author. 2. The Daily Mail Anything printed by these muppets is best ignored. The Daily Mail is trying to be all things to all men, so over the years, its ultra conservative prejudiced tones have been watered down by celebrity gossip, as they compete with The Sun and Da...

Re: Human Flight

I think it was the Royal Marines experimented with a boarding of a vessel underway with one of those. Not aware of that particular experiment but not too surprising as Richard Browning, Gravity's founder, was in the Royal Marine Reserve for six years. Here is Richard's bio for folks who may be inte...

Re: How the length of a skirt can inhibit learning?

I suspect that part of the problem here is whether school uniform skirts are made available in a wide enough range of waist sizes and lengths? In the story, which Uncle Al linked , the mother says about her daughter, "She’s 5 foot 6, 12 years old, and has the waist of a 7 year old. ". Surely an aver...
