Re: West of Sydney
When I lived in Sydney, I hiked many trails and rode many mountain bike single tracks in the Blue Mountains. I was mostly in a deminin miniskirt, sometimes a utility kilts. I never had any issues, but one had to choose the right time to ascend the steep metal stairs.

Re: Hello from Western Australia
Fellow Perthian here (NOR). I've been wearing skirts, kilts and a few dresses for 20 years or so. Never had any negative issues with others, except for quizzical looks occasionally, and many inquiries from both men and women about how to get the utility kilts in particular. I buy skirts from Op Shop...

Guardian article on genderless clothing
Article on genderless clothing here.
https://www.theguardian.com/fashion/202 ... nd-a-label
Not really relevant to us here as it's all about trans and non binary clothing with no mention cis men seeking genderless clothing.

Re: Guardian article on men wearing skirts
The intent of my reply was that the author could have explained to men who want to try skirts that there are practical limitations to some skirt wearing they should be aware about. They can be overcome by using skirts with pockets such as cargo/utility skirts, backpacks, handbags and so on. I really...

Re: Guardian article on men wearing skirts
Good article, spoiled by the last sentence hinting at a lack of commitment to skirt wearing: "I don’t have the energy for that every day. I can’t say what I’ll be wearing tomorrow, but I do know this: it’ll have goddamn pockets on it." He should have expounded on this and listed ways to ov...

Re: Regarding the Electoral College and Other Quirks of the US Democratic Republic
The problems in the US can all be traced to its early colonial history including slavery and the pernicious effects of very dated constitution which was designed to make itself extremely difficult to change. The political system is inherently undemocratic (well down this list in the Flawed Democraci...

The only comment I saw was inane: 'Shouldn't the title be...."Are you woman enough ...to wear skirts"'.

A commonality of all these poor sods is a complete inability to determine real information from bogus stuff on FB and the like. Another common thread is religion (for similar reasons).

Re: What are you afraid of
Cocos and Christmas Islands are both Australian territories and administrated by Western Australia. Since WA is essentially Covid free (apart from a trickle of returnees and ship's crews in quarantine), one is free to travel between the islands and WA without quarantine. Air and water temperatures a...

I forgot to add that the the islands will most likely cease to be inhabitable, if not completely washed away, by the end of the century due to global warming.

Re: What are you afraid of
Just as an example of the ubiquity of plastic and micro plastic pollution: I was recently at Cocos Islands, one of the world's most remote islands, but in the Indian Ocean Gyre. On Direction Island there is a beautiful beach facing south to the inner lagoon, and judged Australia's best beach a few y...
