Re: Don't give a toss...

Oh yes, On several occasions I've had conversations with a couple, sometimes for several minutes, and when the wife, (it's usually the wife, but not always) gets around to complimenting me on my skirt, the husband is very surprised.

Re: Skirt No Pocket, Shirts With Pocket/s

I too found that when wearing skirts at work, I tended to be a bit more formal than I would have been otherwise. No tie, but much more likely to wear button up shirts, and less likely to wear sneakers. The issue of no pockets didn't cause me many problems, as we had a uniform vest. I have been looki...

Re: Pantyhose / Tights Reviews and Recommendations for the Taller Gentleman

Some years ago, I stumbled upon some stay ups, or thigh highs, Italian brand, "Sarah Borghi" It took me a few wearings to realize what I had, but when I did, I went around all the local branches of that discount store and bought all I could find. Very opaque, smooth, very slightly gloss, easily long...

Welcome!

Now we eagerly(?) await you passing the point of being allowed to post pictures. (Is that a thing here? I can't remember)

With your forum name, will we see you in a Cabaret number?

Re: Hi everyone

Hi Pete, and belated welcome. I was also surprised how little comment my skirts got at work. As my work was retail, I was meeting members of the public all the time, and there too, very little attention seemed to be made, never more than confused looks, (only few of them) and the extremely rare frow...

"Mirts" Really?

The skirt and jacket(?) combo almost gets it right. A bit longer and it could work for me, though I'd prefer the look as a tunic, and without the hairy legs and socks.

When I tried to initiate a conversation with "Good Morning", it was clear he wasn't interested so I just let him be.

Re: Combining pieces

Looks good. I don't know why, but from your description I expected the shirt would be underneath. Silly, don't think it would look right or feel comfortable.

Re: That rare male compliment

While I was working at my last job, I did sometimes get male compliments, but usually about colourful shirts, even when I was skirted.

Re: Dogwood Winter

You guys would just love Calgary. There have been years where it snowed at least once, every month. (OK, it didn't stick in the warmer months, but we had white stuff falling) Conversely, it's a very unusual Winter we don't have tee shirt weather for about 2 weeks right in the middle. I've personally...

Re: Why do mens kilts have to look so masculine

I don't own any actual kilts. However, a fair number of my skirts do have what I would call a kilt like vibe. One is an A-Line wool skirt in a broad, diagonal plaid, (not tartan) Another is also wool, but a simple wrap skirt in 3, horizontal bands, Black/Red/Black. A third is cotton, (I think) moder...

Re: Coffee at the café.

At home, I'm buying a Loblaw's own brand espresso bean, which I grind as needed and make the coffee in an AeroPress as an Americano, to which I add cream and sugar. It's quick, clean up is very simple, and it works out at something less than 10cents a cup. Before the virus, one of my little pleasure...

Re: Test Positive for COVID-19

As far as I'm concerned, too me - the vaccine hasn't been proven safe enough yet for me to get "The Shot/s". I do qualify as a high-risk category senior, but I'll wait. Then pardon me for being blunt, but you are being foolish. "All contracted the virus more than two weeks after being fully vaccina...

Re: Distressing

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6iV7qbHkHY "Distressed" jeans etc is one of the stupidest fashions I have seen. I think it's even worse than baggy jeans below your ass. FFS, if you really want a pair, surely you can do it yourself? My local thrift store would sell you jeans like that for a dollar!
