When I tried to initiate a conversation with "Good Morning", it was clear he wasn't interested so I just let him be.

Re: Combining pieces

Looks good. I don't know why, but from your description I expected the shirt would be underneath. Silly, don't think it would look right or feel comfortable.

Re: That rare male compliment

While I was working at my last job, I did sometimes get male compliments, but usually about colourful shirts, even when I was skirted.

Re: Dogwood Winter

You guys would just love Calgary. There have been years where it snowed at least once, every month. (OK, it didn't stick in the warmer months, but we had white stuff falling) Conversely, it's a very unusual Winter we don't have tee shirt weather for about 2 weeks right in the middle. I've personally...

Re: Why do mens kilts have to look so masculine

I don't own any actual kilts. However, a fair number of my skirts do have what I would call a kilt like vibe. One is an A-Line wool skirt in a broad, diagonal plaid, (not tartan) Another is also wool, but a simple wrap skirt in 3, horizontal bands, Black/Red/Black. A third is cotton, (I think) moder...

Re: Coffee at the café.

At home, I'm buying a Loblaw's own brand espresso bean, which I grind as needed and make the coffee in an AeroPress as an Americano, to which I add cream and sugar. It's quick, clean up is very simple, and it works out at something less than 10cents a cup. Before the virus, one of my little pleasure...

Re: Test Positive for COVID-19

As far as I'm concerned, too me - the vaccine hasn't been proven safe enough yet for me to get "The Shot/s". I do qualify as a high-risk category senior, but I'll wait. Then pardon me for being blunt, but you are being foolish. "All contracted the virus more than two weeks after being fully vaccina...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6iV7qbHkHY "Distressed" jeans etc is one of the stupidest fashions I have seen. I think it's even worse than baggy jeans below your ass. FFS, if you really want a pair, surely you can do it yourself? My local thrift store would sell you jeans like that for a dollar!

Re: Texas power grid failure explained

It does come down to economics, or being cheapskate if you prefer. The root cause of the blackouts were having no regulations in place to winterize sources of power generation. That conditions do get cold enough to cause problems was known, if never experienced at this level before. Anybody who cont...

Re: Anti-Asian(Chinese Virus)

The Lady in the video is correct. Generally, Americans aren't racist. But there are certainly those who are, as in every country. When the problem that does exist, is exacerbated by by those in charge, who say crass, dangerous things. It encourages dangerous behaviour, they feel empowered by such st...

I was told that shorts were not allowed in the court room, when I said I was not wearing shorts the bailiff looked again and seated me in the court room.
LOL! Yeah, I bet if I went in my usual sort of outfit it's at least 50/50 I'd get the same response.

This video covers most points, and shows how to ride a bike with a saddle at the correct height for efficient pedalling. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0CJk5UpY4w 2 points. if you are riding with the saddle too low, you waste pedalling effort, and will find it difficult to maintain proper pedallin...

Re: Test due Server Error

It has been looking quite nasty down there. It's next to nothing compared to the two weeks we just had in Calgary, but they simply don't expect that sort of weather in Texas. I suggest they might want to look into preparing for more extreme weather in future. Climate change can mean colder as well a...

Re: thanks for admitting me

Welcome. I am from Calgary, but a trip to Vancouver was the first time I spent several days wearing skirts. Since then I have started wearing them more or less full time.
