Re: Blood Bank, Anyone?

As a family we used to be regular blood donors. Then I developed diabetes and had medication to take. Not my fault but they no longer wanted it and one by one we drifted off donating. Shame, really, because I am the Universal Donor, O Rh- and my type is always in short supply. On my own I would go s...

Re: Happy Birthday to Me.

Happy birthday Jenn. It should be easy ( but I'll probably forget anyway ) to remember your birthday as today is YORKSHIRE DAY. More of a localish celebration of all things Yorkshire, 2 National Parks with outstanding countryside, character, language, accent. The white rose, consider one sent, virtu...

Re: Of Bullsh!t and what comes of if

Gusto10, whilst we don't want you to leave the forum your posts have been contentious of late. Not sure how you have managed to take offense on a post that was done with humour which was how I read it. I don't even think that Carl was venting any frustrations but passing on something that he had bee...

Re: What are you afraid of

My real great fear is of big hairy spiders and even the harmless large garden spiders we have over here give me the jeebies. I couldn't have skin contact with any of them. If found I use a large bowl and piece of card to trap it and usher it outside and away from the house. Scariest moment was when ...

Re: What are you afraid of

You obviously have a vested interest in all this but at my stage in life I have more immediate concerns about life than the convoluted series of events leading up to the release and infrastructure development leading up to the vaccine. It's all academic now and too much to read, the waters have been...

Re: Covid 19

I would argue that the opposition to lockdowns and masks is not socially acceptable because of the increased danger of cross-infection by ignoring them. I'm not sure why you would assume otherwise. Further my answer would be that the vaccine, whilst fast-tracked through its development cycle, was ba...

Re: What are you afraid of

Mass vaccination is working over here whatever the published journals say. Published papers can be contradictory and controversial and no doubt there are those that indicate the opposing view. It's what debate is all about. With huge chunks of the populace double and single jabbed incidences are fal...

Re: Covid 19

Gusto10, if you don't want the vaccine then don't - it's your right. But what you are saying is obviously running counter to the general feelings of those on this forum. You seem to have very few in agreement with you. You are also dangerously close to getting this thread locked. Learn when to give ...

Re: Rethinking Lingerie....

I have bought capped sleeve plain tops from Matalan that were displayed in the women's section. I have other women's tops that have been bought for me. My grand-daughter even bought me a one with florals. I take each top on its merits before deciding whether to wear it out or not. I like to think th...

Thank you both. I'll have a look later today. I had a hard, busy day at work, it's late and I need some sleep.

Re: You think it's hot?

I don't care what the numbers say but when it is so hot and humid at night that I sweat all the time and have broken sleep then IT IS HOT. Currently I need to cold shower twice a day.

Re: Rethinking Lingerie....

As to the TH underwear, why would a man wear a bralet when he has nothing to put in it? [0] The knickers seem the same. The reason for the price difference could be difference in manufacturing cost and the volume of production. There are differences between the garments hence separate production pro...

Re: Tacit Acceptance.

Steve, just me being bolshy. Someone broke my "Dennis the Menace" mug at work and it upset me because I had had it for over 20 yr=ears and I had a sentimental attachment to it. So I wasn't in the best mood when I wrote it. OK the wording was a bit OTT but I think you get the sentiment behind it. Sor...
