Re: Sightings "in the wild"

I am sorry, but to me a woman wearing a Ulitikilt is not gender equality. I was told many years ago by the makers of Utilikilts, that they would not be on sale to women. Now they are, and if enough women wear kilts, then kilts will be out of bounds to men. I know it may be a long time off, and it wo...

Re: kilts for women

Robinz. Had good laugh at that one, called my wife to have look!! When I ordered a kilt many years ago, from a family firm in the highlands, who have made kilts for 100 yrs, I placed an order for a one for my wife. When it arrived, the wife tried hers on, and it was a perfect fit. Great. Snag was it ...

Re: kilts for women

OK, I may have gone off too quick, but when I saw that news story on the TV, it brought back memories of when women first started to wear pants. In those days there was no internet, but the movement for women to wear pants caught on fast. Since noone was making pants for women, they bought mens and ...

Re: kilts for women

OK Charles. I agree, a lot of women have said I look smart etc in my kilts, normally a blak one from the lads in manchester UK, I will not stop wearing a kilt. However, women wore mens pants when they first started wearing pants, altered mens to fit, my wife did the same, and look where they are now...

kilts for women

Hi Lads. Beware.Women are now trying to get men out of kilts. I was watching BBC news tonight 17july, when an item came on. Now the station was having trouble, with the sound and picture breaking up, but the story was about "naughty women now leaving pants behind, and buying mens kilts" Th...

Re: Sightings "in the wild"

I agree, we have to make it happen, no one else will, but I also agree that it will be a better route to start with kilts first. I would think more men would be inclined to wear a kilt, than a skirt, and the move over to wearing skirts easier. I have been wearing kilts now for about 20 years, the la...

Re: Utilikilt, noticed or not

Hi Martin. Got an e-mail back from Utilikilts, saying that my asumption it was a skirt one way, and a kilt with the apron attached, was not quite correct. They included a photo, showing what I take to be the front, and it seems that you step in, and then fasten the front (as in pants, but not with a...

Re: Utilikilt, noticed or not

HI, I have just looked at their site, and reading their info on this new kilt-step in - I get the impression its a skirt one way, add the front apron, and its a kilt. What a brilliant idea!! I have sent them an e-mail, and if that is so, will order one. I have worn kilts now for about 18 years, have...

Re: Are you brave enough to wear a kilt?

Yes I am. I wear a kilt 365 days a year. I have 8 kilts, some tartan, but the one I wear most, is a Black 24 inch kilt from Midas Clothing. It is so soft, light weight, and does not crease when I am sitting in it. I also wear tights with my kilts and have never heard any negative comments. However, ...

Re: Irish mens skirt company

I dont think they are womens skirts, since they seem to be too small in the hips. My waist is size 34, and my hips 37-straight up and down, and these skirts wouls be fine on me. A womens skirt with a size 34 waist would have hips of 44 to 46, and would show on these models, which are male models. My...

Re: Definite Progress

Hi cessna. Well did think I would get back to you. I was sending an answer to your post and telling you how I enjoyed your site and the photos of loco, planes etc, and hit the submit button. There was a flash on the screen, I had an impression of a small post, then there it was, a post saying he was...
