Re: AI Sucks

I lack personal experience with dogs. The estimates I have seen on line are those of a two year old human.

When I was a boy back during the 1960s, I had already felt stultified/suffocated by the Man-Box.

The lack of colour everywhere makes for a very depressing outlook, maybe its time for us all to put some colour back in our lives, it might make the world a happier place.

Re: Greatest Influence On Children

Got a brief glimpse (before the elders passed away) of how great-grandchildren may treat their great-grandparents. This was the family of a friend. Her parents were the great-grandparents in question. The kids and elders had a warm relationship. It reminded me of the relationship between grandparent...

Re: Skirt wearing boys in Japan

When I was researching the shift towards Western styles, I came across what might have been. Early on, a few Japanese suggested adopting clothing styles from other East Asian countries. Japan could have well have had dual sartorial revolutions, at the same time.

Just like this one! (And likely of a similar size.)
Possibly larger. Perhaps, as timemeddler suggested, as large as the kilties. I expect that there may be a fair number who are interested, but are still in the closet.

Re: Where will we be in say... ten years?

Toe in the water? In reference to the Due Lipa thread, we may have reached a real, if modest, milestone. Skirted men have become acceptable (at least in the background) as part of a performance. A decade from now? At that point it may be only another 80 years for a sartorial revolution to reach comp...

I think we have a toe in the water, as opposed to a foot in the door, but not much else.

What will the next year, or another 10 years, bring :?:

Yes, a toe in the water.

Another 10 years?

Perhaps an fraternity of skirted brethren.

Re: Where will we be in say... ten years?

We only need enough guys to wear them enough so people have at least aware of men's skirts. I think most of us would be happy if it reached the level kilts have now. Everyone knows of them, I have to wonder if we will first start to see men in half way house rigs. For example, the Etalon Mens Skirt...

Hypothetical scenario....

Somebody markets a hiking dress for men. This becomes the first dress to gain traction.

Yes, the kilt has been almost the only exception to a "Trousers Tyranny" in the West. A special case, as I have mentioned before.

Re: Doing away with "Embracing feminity"

There ARE components to femininity and masculinity that are not strictly subjective, I do believe, but as you have adequately shown, most of what people refer to as masc or fem is, in fact, not only subjective but contradicted by history. Open ended garments, as an example. Deemed feminine in the W...

Re: Man in skirt wins Eurovision

At 67 years of age, I have come to accept that some life goals are now out of reach. Never had any (romantic) luck with women, and so I have had no children, nor will I have grand children. I finally gave up on trying to attract romantic partner; my attempts were futile. It was a relief when I final...

Oh that's clever. Recently there's been a lot of womens shorts that have that flap across the front to make it look skirt-like.
I believe the term is scooter.
