I've been over thinking this. Two revolutions:
1. Skirted rigs.
2. Modes of expression-which are compatible with trousers (nail polish, jewelry, cologne, handbags, etc.).
Note that both 1 and 2 could proceed in parallel to the other.

Re: Men's? Unisex? Or Women's?
I should have explained what I meant by twin revolutions. For men: One revolution is skirt like garments gaining traction. Another is dress like (or robe like) garments gaining traction. I have also wondered if another revolution-one of personal expression-could gain traction. I'm thinking of nail p...

Re: Men's? Unisex? Or Women's?
On the other hand, we should consider another of the twin revolutions.
Noticed that Purple Rain not only has hiking skirts/"kilts", but also hiking dresses. Seems to me that there could be a niches that remains unfilled-a hiking dress for men.

Re: Dua Lipa’s SNL performance featuring skirted male dancers
It occurred to me that I may have excessively pessimistic in some of my posts. Regarding the time scale for MIS catching on.
Maybe younger people are a bit more open minded than I anticipated. I am cautiously optimistic now.

Re: Hypothethical Question
Getting back to the original spirit of the question. At the moment I feel in the UK I have every freedom to choose any skirt with no particular rules to male dressing except for my own style rules, which I am at liberty to bend as I see fit. If skirts became common as male dressing, would rules com...

Re: International Men Can Wear Dresses Day
I am 67 years old. I gave up on women twenty years ago. Over the years I have had platonic friendships with a few women, but never any luck romantically. First started looking seriously for a girl friend when I was 29. When I was 47 I noticed that I was getting a bit too old to start raising a famil...

Re: Hypothethical Question
We are all on a gender spectrum. Some of us are more masculine and some of us are in the middle, and some of us are more feminine. The Man-Box teaches us that “feminine is bad” and also that we don’t have a feminine side. Women accept their masculine side because they don’t have a Woman-Box to gove...

Re: Hypothethical Question
1. Only skirts in manly color palettes like black, brown, blue, and gray will be accepted. No baby blue, pastel or the colors. What shade of black, brown, blue, or gray would you like? 2. Only skirts made from heavy material are accepted so that they will appear to be really masculine. No light and...

Noticed that the performers were much younger than me. (I am 67 years old).

Re: Dua Lipa’s SNL performance featuring skirted male dancers
Aesthetically, the skirts worked well. To me they had a bit of a Goth vibe.

Re: Hypothethical Question
That's precisely what it was -- and represents no measurable progress because aside from cut, men will still be shackled by the same boring colour-pallet and the same crappy fabrics they're confined to now. I noticed that there seems to be interest in some sort of MIS skirt suit. Perhaps such a sui...

Re: Hypothethical Question
we share one thing in common, “We all love to wear skirts” and should never loose sight of that concept that binds us all together. Yes, the Cafe has (gasp) LGBTQ and GNC members and we should welcome those members without discrimination. The views regarding presentation while wearing a skirt here ...

Re: Hypothethical Question
It's a slightly odd scenario you depict. One where female attire on men is allowed and encouraged but strictly controlled. Actually, the scenario reminds me of the discussion about the next skirt to gain traction (in Mainstream society). There was at least one thread about that. The speculation ten...

Re: Skirt wearing boys in Japan
Looked at an online article by Ayano Soma, as part of Digital Japanese History . It was commented that the shift toward Western styles became "universal" after the 1970s. In the Wikipedia article it was stated that the shift began in 1871, when government officials were required to wear We...
