I think it's time for this thread to end. No one so far has a clue about which they speak.

This is outstanding. I agree with your next time enhancements and would also suggest adding in-seam pockets. Can't wait to see the results.

Re: Skirt panel calculator

Was that the result you expected? I was a bit worried about where the drop should be measured from on a man because we generally don't have such clearly-defined hips as women Yes, but it is important to measure the desired drop based on the waist band position on the body. I chose to position the s...

Re: Skirt panel calculator

Just wanted to say that I took this tutorial and calculator for test drive. Let me say first that I have fashioned several A line skirts basically copying a commercial skirt. Those results were ok but nothing spectacular. I used the calculator to size a 41 inch waist with a 20 inch drop and a 2 inch...

Re: DIY Utility Kilt on Instructables

This instructable is really good. I've made three of them. I had just purchased a sewing machine last winter and was experimenting with skirts, with not very great outcomes. I stumbled on the kilt topic and decided why not. I bought some cheap cotton broadcloth to do a practice run. The result was r...

Re: Sewing machine-Old School vs. New School

The Elna Supermatic, all metal, Swiss made is an excellent choice if you come across one. I've seen them priced as much as $300. Straight stitch, zig-zag, button hole and tons of decorative stitches with optional cams typically available on EBay.

Re: Patterns: Robes, Cloaks....

I have always liked caftans. So when I saw the pattern listed above and it's simplicity I dug out some cotton poly fabric and set to work. I only had enough material to make a short knee length piece. All said and done the caftan came together quite well. The pattern dimensions worked out fine for m...

Kilts and Stuff

Does anyone have any experience with the web site Kilts and Stuff or their catalog service. Seems like nice prices for their economy kilts or their Wilderness Kilts and Skirts. Especially custom fit items.

Re: What is the purpose of this?

This type garment is currently popular on the golf course. Watch an LPGA event and a majority of the ladies are wearing such an item. I have several skorts that I cut the legs out and they have become some of my favorite skirts

Skirt Source

Found an unsuspecting source of skirts. A western ranchwear store that sells the Carhartt brand of work and play clothing for men and women has skirts on clearance. I suspect this might be the case at more than one of these type of stores. I picked up a size 18 cargo skirt about 17" long, that ...

Bib overall skirt = "skirtall" at Old Navy. Bought mine in one of their stores, but they do have them online. Sorry I don't do pictures at this time.
