Re: Hail to the Handbag!

Have any of you experienced discrimination as a male carrying a bag? I have asked to store mine in a locker in museums when women have not. Most infuriating was being turned away at Boston Garden. I ended up giving my bag to a female friend and she wasn't hassled. Their policy actually calls out &q...

Re: Hail to the Handbag!

I'm a big fan of carrying a bag/purse/whatever you want to call it. It's just so practical. I hate sitting on a wallet and I hate carrying stuff around in pockets so a bag works great. I have a smallish messenger bag that works really well, and a smaller purse if I don't want to carry too much or so...

Re: These are a few of my favorite bags!

I carry a bland REI black shoulder bag as well as a black Sherpani crossbody messenger bag, both marketed as women's purses. Bags aimed at men tend to be on the large side and I prefer carrying something smaller.

Re: Root of the Issue

I think that things are slowly changing. But not fast enough. A good example is earrings. In the not to distant past the thought of men wearing earrings was unheard of. I choose not to wear them. But if I see a man wearing them my only interest is the size and quality of the stones. with no conside...

Sportkilt

I am considering a purchase from them. I think I like their women's sport or hiking kilt over the men's counterpart. Other than length it's not evident from their website what are the differences between the women's and men's versions. Does anyone have expereince with these products and could addres...

London

I will be in London in December, January, and February. I would like to wear a kilt while sightseeing if I have some time, and this will be my first time out in public with one. Will the weather be a factor? Are attitudes there generally favorable towards this?

Re: Running Skirt

Another running skirt convert writes about it here. http://blog.runnj.org/2013/07/01/running-skirts-a-review-for-men/ Some of the comments are by other men who run in skirts. I didn't know there were quite so many of us! As I mentioned in the introductions section, I'm the guy who wrote that blog p...

Re: "Man" Bags?

[quote="Ben"]I carry a small shoulder bag which resembles a small messenger style bag by Sherpani. http://sherpani.com/sherpani-milli.aspx Mione is all black and I added a scifi patch on the flap to make it more appropriate for my tastes and less feminine. The maker markets as bags for wom...
