Straight men don't want others to believe they are homosexual.

Re: Will Skirts Ever be Mainstream for Men?

Great question. There are plenty of sites which exist for the trans community and crossdressers and that's fine - but they are not what we are primarily about (I hope!). To make skirts mainstream for men should be our goal here. There has already been some successes. Mainstream manufacturers like H&...

Re: Mississipi School Discriminate Transgender Girl

Honestly, I don't see why the parents need to be involved. At best you can explain to them the potential consequences, and convince them not to. But a name is a personal thing and something you get to choose. When it comes to children, their official name should be chosen or approved by their paren...

Re: Mississipi School Discriminate Transgender Girl

On the basis that boys should have the right to wear skirts, then why should a different name or pronoun ... Names are chosen by parents. If parents are happy for Jonathan to switch to Janet or vice versa, then that's fine - they can change the name they use at school. Pronouns are different. Nobod...

Re: Mississipi School Discriminate Transgender Girl

I think this is being approached in the wrong way. If a student is biologically and physiologically male, that is a simple reality. Until transitioning is complete (hormones, surgery, the legal aspects etc), she can request, but can't demand, others recognise her as female. However... The real issue...

Re: Pride

To me, pride is an emotion and it has an antonym, i.e. "shame". Both carry hazards. Pride is pleasurable but can give rise to arrogance while shame is a miserable experience. I try to ensure I only give these space in my mind where they relate to my own behaviour and achievements and never...

Re: Migraines

I can join this club. The first time you get the flashing zig-zag lines and then lose the central part of your vision, it's quite scary. The advantage for me is that it is usually painless (no other symptoms) and it goes away fairly quickly. I am told that, if these become too frequent, there is a m...

AI Sucks

I don't know if anyone uses the free AI systems, but I have found them to be wrong more often than they are correct. I recently asked three different systems which King of England died in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. One said it was King John, another said it was James I and the third got it correct ...

Re: Gardening Day

I've been working in my half-acre garden most of this afternoon, clearing weeds and creating a new veg patch - I have two other small veg patches. Although my garden is very private, I would never do it naked. I don't like being naked even round the house, let along outdoors among spiky rosebushes, ...

I see this as a compromise that will keep men in the Man-Box as I stated in my post "Hypothetical Question"
I am quite happy to have a "man box". I just want it way bigger.

Re: Skirts in Schools - No hope for boys

Most women and girls won't touch a guy in a skirt. Unless it's a kilt and the wearer can carry it off. Then, suddenly, the "guy in the skirt" will become an object of lust. Weird, eh? Maybe that's the route to getting boys to wear skirts - make them tartan, pleated and wrapover style and ...

Re: Skirts are mind blowingly good

I spent some time supervising a female Iranian PhD student. She once mentioned that she drank alcohol, which surprised me, but she volunteered to me that she was a Zoroastrian rather than a Shia Muslim so she was allowed to do that. She consistently wore jeans or leggings to our meetings, as did mos...

I hope you do. Keep us informed if you see a trend developing.

Re: Skirts in Schools - No hope for boys

I am not sure what your reasons are, but a standard school has all of the above. As a governor you have a voice to affect the ethos of the school. I am a governor and the uniform request we got to consider was "could the girls be allowed to wear shorts as the boys were in hot weather?" my...

Re: Skirts in Schools - No hope for boys

I spent several hours at the home of a relative of my wife who had died. The relative had been a school governor for a secondary school for many years and his wife asked me if I would be willing to apply for her late husband's post as governor which, she assured me, doesn't take up too much time. I ...
