Re: What feminine items do you wear?
Masculinity is very fragile and very weak , more-so than an egg. When compared to femininity, masculinity is years behind in the stone age. Maybe yours is - mine is fine. I don't "shun" feminine things, I just see no need to adopt them myself. I manage perfectly fine without smearing lips...

Re: Intimate Medical Issues
And no problems with having a woman doing the checks! She bounced them up and down (gently) and didn't squeeze hard at all. Many men don't have a problem with that, but some of us do. The whole experience is what turned me from a frequent MIS to an exclusive MIS (trousers worn just twice in over fo...

Re: Intimate Medical Issues
...women patients have a legal right to be seen only by female medics for intimate issues while no corresponding right exists for males. That's an inequality. I expect men rape women much more often than women rape men. So women fear men more than men fear women--it's reasonable. Fear hinders openn...

Re: Intimate Medical Issues
Stu, do you have a source for this. I have consulted the "NHS Constitution" https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... ges-to-you and couldn't find an explicit female right. I may have missed it, but would be interested in more information, since this inequality is wrong. I have a confes...

Re: Intimate Medical Issues
"GET OVER IT --- IT IS IN A HOSPITAL ENVIRONMENT --- THEY HAVE SEEN EVERYTHING" ! Everything handled respectfully - professionally - NO VULGAR sexual talk - terms explained in layman language. Oh and in an emergency you may not have a choice of doctor - you can wait in the morgue for your...

Re: Intimate Medical Issues
From the other side, once you seen one you've seen em all, But you ain't seen mine. As an erstwhile medical student, I would do the exact opposite. My female contemporaries worked much harder than the men did. Well, mostly. I have a daughter who is an erstwhile consultant and I know she work...

Intimate Medical Issues
In the UK, patients supposedly have the right to see a doctor of the same sex for any intimate issues if they wish. This is normally aimed at women, but I guess men can also ask for that. Some people don't care - a doctor is a doctor. However, I am extremely uncomfortable with the idea of being exam...
Re: back pain
I tend to find heavy work in my garden plus having two walks a day keeps my back pain at bay - aided by a codeine med to take the edge off it.

Re: The boundary between skirt wearer and TV
Crossdressing is wearing something because it is intended for the opposite sex - it is an identifier and an intentional signal that the wearer wishes to be associated with the opposite sex. And it's not generally restricted to just one garment, but rather to an entire look, incorporating shoes, hair...

Re: The boundary between skirt wearer and TV
A man who wears a skirt is just that - as a woman who wears jeans is just that. A TV is a male crossdresser - i.e. a man who wants to present as a woman or a boy who wants to present as a girl, whether that's in public or in front of a mirror. To me, as a semanticist, the boundary is perfectly clear.

Re: Skirts in Schools - No hope for boys
When we are talking about children, the company which seems to mean it when they say everything is gender neutral is the US firm primary.com. Some of their dresses and skirts are modeled by children who are boys.

Re: Skirts in Schools - No hope for boys
As for Trutex. Show me a boy in a skirt and I'll applaud. Untill then it's just an ommision. To be fair Trutex used to specify the garments as "Girls' school skirt" and they have consciously removed the word "girls'" from both the title row at the top and the description. I agre...

Re: Skirts in Schools - No hope for boys
A high proportion of schools in the UK have de-gendered their uniforms. The aim was, in reality, to give girls the option of wearing trousers in addition to their existing choice of skirts, skorts, cullottes, pinafores and summer dresses. So girls get a real choice - boys get Hobson's choice - and a...

Re: Skirts, Pants, and Deuteronomy 22:5
As I am not a Christian or Jew, but I would be interested to know what men were wearing when Deuteronomy was written. Were they all in jeans? Slacks? Tracksuit bottoms" Cargo shorts?
