Re: Prisoner or Pioneer

Thanks for the idea of something else to say to any that might not understand how to think for themselves, Uncle Al. Lot's of the past really is stale, I think.

Re: A true "member extraordinaire" passes

Yes, Carl. Skip and I had some PM's when I was new here. Quite a character with some interesting opinions. He thought I would be on his side and he wasn't far wrong. We were friends. I wondered why we hadn't heard from him for awhile. It's good that now we all have been informed, thanks to a couple ...

Re: Roller Skating

MAYBE. I might have, but we didn't have live music in the area I grew up. Just to poor and the houses struggled to stay open. They did canned music over loud speakers, sometimes with a caller/DJ. The rink closest to me was tore down to put a freeway through town. A sorry day for us. I did skate at a...

Re: Sightings "in the wild"

There was a chance meeting in Arizona yesterday. My wife and I are parked with the RV in Chandler, AZ while I do maintenance checkups at the VA Hospital in Phoenix. I was out running errands and a little Geocaching in the area when I visited a local grocery store and there was a man in a black kilt,...

Re: Men in Skirts "Common in Five Years"???

I do object to the emotive word "feminisation". I think a word like "harmonisation" would have been better. As discussed on other threads the association with feminine being somehow less desirable is not the attitude. The tone of the article was confusing, starting out with good...

Re: Dresses!

As for using a back zipper for us old guys and anyone not familiar working behind your back, the neat bit about skirts, just put it on and zip it in the front like we've always done and then spin it around back...

Try doing that with trousers!

Re: Computers.

Yes, Jack, the Lenovo T61 has to be a great professional computer. I've owned and used a T60 for a few years now. It's tough and quick for me. Running Win 7 for a year or so and used as a back up now because I've been able to depend on it as I try out newer, faster laptops that are available on the ...

Re: Grandson (2) only wants to wear sisters shoes!

And I think Carl does a better job of reading and thinking about what he read than I and some others do. Some old habits are good, some not so much. That about somes it up for me..... Welcome to our group Skirted Marine from another Navy guy. There is lots to learn here. I know it has helped me feel...

Sorry, Tom, I disagree with that. He may be accused of crossdressing, but we all know it's just society putting us in a box.

Re: An interesting visual site on clothing history

I'll look more, but the first thing I noticed on the site was... "Women appreciate headless pictures"

In other words they want to see garments, when looking at garments, not hair do or make up.

Carl, A power strip with a on/off switch will stop that annoying blinking from your VCR's. Even the Beta one..... Most likely, you'll also save enough on your power bill to pay for the power strip, too. Those secret power users do add up. It doesn't really make any sense to keep a VCR warm and ready...

Yes, Dennis, all the best luck.

The prep is more of a pain for the patient by far. I get to prep every couple years and never look forward to it. We look forward for you to chime in a couple weeks from now.

Re: Man Skirt

Good finds -John. Those are styles I wear and they work good for the normal stuff I carry and the way I like to look. Or maybe the way I'm used to being. Just in the last few years only one leg hole has become the norm and more comfortable. I've spent a lot of time looking in thrift stores for them ...
