Re: Mens Suiting Is Drab

Tom, thanks for your hugely detailed response. That’s really helpful and much appreciated. I’m keen to repurpose my suit as I love the colour so much, but I acknowledge your comments on relative difficulty. If only I could find the material and get a matching skirt for the jacket! I feel a purchase ...

Re: Mens Suiting Is Drab

Tom, I’m interested in getting a skirt suit. What sort of cost are we looking at?

I’m also keen on modifying a current suit where the trousers (two pairs) are both worn at the top of the legs. Repurposing the trousers into a skirt appeals considerably.

I can't read it without creating an account or making some form of payment, neither of which I am prepared to do.
Ditto.

Re: Pantyhose / Tights Reviews and Recommendations for the Taller Gentleman

Cette are good, and should have enough stretch on the bigger sizes. I really like their “Brooklyn” 30 denier tights. Semi-opaque with a lovely silky feel.

However I find Glamory very average, with a slightly rough texture on the mens’ hosiery.

For length, try Falke. Their Seidenglatt 15 tights for example, are very long indeed.

Try also Wolford in XL, Marks & Spencer Silky Soft 40 den opaques, and also Kunert. All have generous fit.

Fuel in the U.K. is the equivalent of $6.70 per US gallon. That’s why our cars are more fuel-efficient...

Sorry, Moon. I just don’t buy this.

I’m happy to consider cogent arguments, backed up by a posteriori evidence. I’m less inclined to support conspiracy theories.

People are rubbish at keeping secrets.

As I said, let’s see the proof.

Prove it. Otherwise, your view is as irrationally flawed as the supposition in the preceding post.

Prove it.

Re: Covid 19

One Covid-related death reported today. For the whole UK. Lockdown, distancing, masks and vaccines are working. Positive news. I’m hopeful that mainland Europe can catch up soon so that travel will once again be possible. The USA’s vaccination programme is also looking really good after a slow start...

Re: Grey Suit

Lovely looking suit. My preference on shoes would be the purple/maroon/aubergine shoes (less severe looking / good colour match).

Good to see you intend to wear stockings with the suit. Legwwar will underpin the professional / smart look.

Re: Why do mens kilts have to look so masculine

I agree!

There is NOTHING more masculine than wearing a kilt! I’ve been around the world on one, and wearing it is like wearing a superhero costume (okay, I’m imagining now!). You feel invincible in a kilt. It’s hyper-masculine.

Denim jeans? Masculine? No chance! Look how many women wear them ;-)

I used to drink coffee a lot. Not now. Peppermint tea. That said, when I’m cycling with friends, we stop for coffee and cake. Today , halfway through a 46 mile bike ride, I had a very enjoyable cappuccino (double shot) with Victoria cake and millionaires shortcake. No sugar in any drinks. Cake only ...
