It seems the link between the two websites has disappeared.

"Why"?

Out of curiosity, did Noodles offer a rationale for dropping the forward link to here?

The reverse link is still in place, I see, which I believe is good.

jesus, what an insult. that really makes me angry: there are people here who really worked hard to promote and support tom's cafe. I wish he'd just 'fess up and say he's ashamed of being associated with us.

well, I guess he just did.

We do not know yet if that was the intent, either explicit or accidental. Let's give some time to gather answers before getting our ire up.

I'll admit to similar immediate thoughts, and upon recognising them as warrantless, shoved them aside and decided to ask the "why" question. There could be any of a thousand reasons why that link disappeared, and right now we're not party to what the reason is -- all we can do now is wait for a reply to come in, and then we can form our own informed opinions.

New Front Page for Tom's Cafe

Post by Stevie D »

I think the reason the link to SkirtCafe was down is that Noodles (I presume) was making a new and tasteful memorial front page to Tom's Cafe. On that front page there is now a link to here, as well as various other places.

So - Iain, and others, rest easy. It is clear that no insult was intended.
Have a look at the new Front Page of Tom's here:

So, all of that angst was for naught. What's a hot-head to do when surrounded by polite company? :)

The new page is really well done, too. Noodles deserves kudos for it.

All for naught? I don't think so.. Bob said it was Noodles' wish, and I guess he should know. It was very obvious that he wanted little or no association with us, and the unseemly haste with which this was carried out when the site was re-named did seem, to me, a slight. But hey, in these PC times, far better to stick a smiley face on it and say, thanks! :)

The front page is indeed nice, and some touching memories of Tom are there. The man was outstanding, and we should all be thankful for his unselfish character, and for all that he achieved.
