HiViz skirt used in shorts protest

I missed this at the time in July, but standard use of a skirt when the sun comes out and UK chaps are denied the use of shorts.

This may not be a case of sex discrimination if a "binwoman" would be required to wear trousers as well (since it looks like the rule is in place for safety reasons - and not sex/gender norms as is often the case).

There was a follow-up story in September 2022 about a two-week trial of shorts for the York binmen.

It is unclear whether the trial was successful and the binmen were granted permission to wear shorts from then on.

https://www.instagram.com/p/DNyfhqsZMMW/ So rather than just post a link to Instagram, I did some research to find the story source, where I found it on the BBC. What I didn't see was the 2022 date as Stevie pointed out.
Shows to be more careful with social media and how news stories go round in circles.
