There is a Youtube video claiming men are wearing mini skirts in Atlanta as a new style.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTFvyYjJnaI

The video is putting these men down. We can hope it is true men are on the rise in wearing skirts regardless what this person posted. We can hope this trend will pick up across America and every where else.

Edit

Here is another video. The video went viral. Men are claiming it is the latest trend to wear skirts.

I just skimmed parts of the first video. It's sad to see how disapproving they are along with the comments. Some of the men she talks about have been making a splash on social media which I've been happy to see. I guess it comes with the territory that there's going to be pushback.

I hope it takes hold and spreads to other places.
Quote from the top video. "It may not be that much now, but it's trending. We know what happens when things start trending; other men will be doing it too".
HALLELUJAH!!!
The videos were both unwatchable for me, but I get the idea. Men in skirts in Atlanta, GA, are getting some internet attention, albeit pretty much negative at this point. It looks like some are deciding to step up and take the heat in a community with a notoriously vocal bias.

I remember the sagging pants drama that went on for over 20 years, starting pretty much the same way. The more it was decried the more traction it gained in certain communities. I plan to continue in my own way with my own style of skirts, but I applaud those who are willing to take the heat to push society's buttons about what men are allowed to wear.

Since I posted about men in skirts from Atlanta, it came to my attention that the video was made by small business owner who makes and sells skirts for men. This makes it questionable how many men really making a bold statement about fashion. His inventory is sold out.

I hope this event turn fully positive and men start wearing skirts.

I just did a quick Google search for Atlanta men in skirts. While I'm no expert it appears that the buzz is there.

Oh yes, cynical, negative and discouraging though I am.
Just don't hold your breath!
Since the 1960s there have been reports of one kind or another that skirts for men would "take off".
It hasn't happened so far, what in the current climate would give anyone in their right mind that a minor clique in Atlanta will be the catalyst now?
Sure, live in hope but there's not much else and if that's not to anyone's liking, I strongly suggest removing the blinkers.
Steve.

Steve, I have long since given up any real hope that it's a trend that will catch on ever . As far as I'm concerned it's just a topic for conversation. I have long since cast my lot and unless some serious consequences are forthcoming I'll be skirted for as long as I can dress myself.

Absolutely Modoc, and my comments were meant for a lot more ears than yours, I assure you.

In the 60's there was no internet and the power to influence each other as today. And today a person can influence in a change of fashion industry over night. But what went down in Atlanta was a small business created a video in hope in selling its wares. That part paid off, but did it create a movement? Only time will tell. What we don't have in skirtcafe a member of skirtcafe on ground keeping an eye seeing if there is a trend in Atlanta that may pick up and spread.
My post is to give hope things can change overnight. Because of one failure after another doesn't mean a positive result can happen overnight or remain slow turn around. Remaining negative doesn't help the cause.
Debate here is what this small business owner did, did he help in getting men being MIS or did his stunt hurt our cause? This is one of many main issues here that should be debated.
No blinders here.

You can follow this guy on Instagram. His username is @ai.cashh He's continuing to post content everyday of him wearing his skirts. With over 300K followers, he's probably doing more to steer the needle than anyone on this forum....

I find the whole situation really interesting, with several layers to it. He seems to be doing well for himself designing these pleated miniskirts. The fact he's young and quite attractive certainly helps.

Realistically negative Mr S.
Plenty trends have come down to us from the sixties, strange how that happened without the internet and social media influencers, is it not.
Please note that false optimism does nothing for our cause either.

Of note is that we do not know Mr. S's location. I can see it being somewhat positive if he dwells in a developed country; however, if he dwells in a country with a backwards societal structure and substantial retrograde motion, then the optimism is entirely misplaced and borders on the dangerous.

After a bit of sleuthing, I've found he is located in the hills of southern Kentucky,
South-South East of Lexington, and almost due North of Knoxville, TN.
He has indicated, in several of his posts, that he is in Kentucky.

Right now Carl, I doubt there is any country in the world where men in skirts will spring into mainstream fashion.
The UK is liberal to a huge degree but things are not changing enough to indicate a potential upsurge.

American geopolitics are way outside my knowledge, no comment!

All I'm saying is jury is still out. Shouldn't rush in making a judgement. We have different fashion trends started by an influencer, such as wearing hoodies during summer months. I' m waiting to see if the trend moves to other cities. Don't get me wrong here, I'm not holding my breath.
I know a person that works at local store here and will be going to Atlanta to see her sick father in hospital there this weekend. I ask her if she sees men running around in mini skirts while she is there.

Aicashh.com seems base upon more to LGBT communities than the straight man.
I find that a person have to submit there phone number before having full access to his website a major turnoff.
I personalty would like to know if there was a lot of purchases from any one city and have several men in skirts. Only time will tell.
