I have followed Abby Cox's channel for some time, as she has many videos on historical dressing which I am interested in.

For me 2024 was the year of the handbag, stating with getting a handbag for Christmas http://www.skirtcafe.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=24650 and ending with three handbags in constant use.

I am now totally fine with my handbags and only leave them at home when I am going out to work, where I already have a much larger bag with tools, computers etc.
I like the point Abby makes at the end, about the amount of stuff we normally carry about, which makes the handbag the smart, choice however big your pockets.

Fashion Freedom for Men!!

I am a fairly recent convert to purses. I expressed my 'reservations' on this site a while back, and with the encouragement from fellow SC members, pushed myself a bit to using handbags regularly. My wife had encouraged it for several years, but I didn't fully get there comfortably. Just today I found myself wondering what the heck took me so long, they are so very convenient (as long as you aren't inclined to put things down and move on--without them).

Short of a bit of frustration with the "fashion" rules of color matching to outfits.... I'm fully on-board now. I have established a 'system' to swab between my two key purses -- a black and a brown -- quickly without much hassle by using an stand alone wallet much as I carried before, inside the purse -- so there it is not a big task using another familiar bag. Mouse has taken simplicity a step further with multiple colors of the same model. Anyway, thanks guys -- it has been a very helpful 'push'!

I watched the whole video and found it interesting. I didn't take me long to become a convert to purses/handbags because of how minuscule pockets were on skirts and nonexistent on dresses, also, I disliked having stuff bulging in pockets because it killed the smooth silhouette skirts provided. From the start, carrying a decidedly femme looking bag was never a problem for me, if anything, I loved the styling and wouldn't carry anything less. Oh, and for the record, I don't keep all that much in my bags while out and about: wallet, cellphone, car fobs, house keys, car insurance/registration, my Amazon Kindle (on outings to get in some reading), not much else beyond that as I believe in traveling light. Oh, yeah, I also subscribe to the fashion rule about making sure my bag and shoes match! HA!

While out and about lately, I took notice of the number of men carrying their stuff, wallets, phones, keys etc, stacked in their hands. I just smiled to myself and thought,so much easier just to grab a bag of some kind and make your life easier dude,.
