Pink Skirt.....

Post by Mouse »

Oh dear. I have bought a pink skirt....

I have been looking at Super-dry skirts for some time ever since I admired one of the cafe's member's tartan skirt that he wore at a meet up. I also bought a Super-dry Vintage Tiered Mini Skirt in the summer after liking another members skirt.

The Super-dry skirts are usually around the £35 to £50 price range for mini skirts. Anyway Super-dry have been sending me emails with various deals and a 70% off deal got to me at a weak moment. There are two colour ways, blue to light pink and pink to light pink. The one that I thought I could rock was the blue one, but the one available in my size and the one I have bought is the full pink one. Why you ask? well I kinda want to challenge myself and pink is a colour I don't have much of and it will be a good start to 2025 shenanigans...

Is that a bu(l)dge is on the right side? Maybe an MIS ad?
(Oops)

I like the skirt, nice shade of pink. My daughter has a pair of raspberry tights that would go nicely with the skirt.
I'm a bit envious of her snag raspberry tights but that's one I'll say I can't have 🙃.

Hmm! I think a black top with matching shoes would work well with that skirt. At least that’s how I’d manage such an outfit.

I thought there was an 'L' in bulge. £50 is daylight robbery for an item quite so skimpy and short. I wouldn't consider donning anything that shape ever.

Before Christmas I allowed myself lift a little flame-red no. (17") off the peg whch I thought I might 'model' for a Christmas greeting pic. That didn't happen, so I'll reserve that bit of fun for the Spring. Meanwhile someone gave me a pair of flame red socks......

Love the colour not the price... take a look on Vinted, plenty of nice Boden pink pencil skirts of a more suitable length for a fraction of the price. That Superdry skirt will have you standing up all day as it's hard to sit and be modest in something that length, though I'm being a prude

I remember years ago when a bloke wouldn't be caught dead in a pink shirt, can't see why a pink skirt would be a problem  go for it 8)

Tom, new2skirts, so the normal price is £34.99, which is too much for so little a skirt, but with the 70% deal, it is £10.50 with free shipping... I know you can get cheaper skirts from eBay, vinted etc. But there is something fun about buying new from shops where the happening people are buying from....

Jeff, I like the black idea, big boots, big puffy jacket, black tights.... on the other hand, BM, I do have tall raspberry/maroon boots which may work.

denimini, seb, thanks for your confidence and support in me.

Tom, the red set sounds fun.

As a number of you have alluded too, the bump problem maybe my biggest worry, more than the pink. I have bought a size 14 which is the largest they had and the recent Roman denim skirt I bought was a 14 so it will be interesting to see if I can make it work in my style. The material looks to be on the thicker side and the colour blending all may help.

I will report back when the free shipping has delivered and if I have made it out the door.......

The skirt is tight and meant to be like that. You will be able to see a bump in front. Nothing wrong in that it's the male anatomy.
Seeing something when you sit down is another matter. Just make sure you wear non opaque tights and modesty is preserved.

I am with you BM, however Mrs Mouse is not so sure of that point and will mention it as a problem. Mrs Mouse is very supportive and I don't want her to have problems.

This almost needs a thread of its own. Mrs Mouse has a sound head on her shoulders and will barometer possible problems with your attire. That said you have gone right out there with your mind blowing outfits. At the same time always managed to retain a masculine persona. She's probably living in a constant state of preparedness, waiting for what you will come downstairs in next 🙂.
As for lumps and bumps. I really don't see the need to hide anything. Men have nothing to be ashamed of in that Dept.
Skirt length is another thing. The world is so biased against men and anything remotely sexual. Another example of the double standard. I don't wear short skirts but that's my choice.

I am so fortunate with where I find myself now in life, that I push the boat out bit by bit, but try very hard not to rock it.

There are levels in my head which I dress by, in order to not rock the boat too much.

1. If I am going out to a party or an event, that is just me, then anything goes. http://www.skirtcafe.org/forums/viewtop ... 95#p263795

2. Local shopping on my own is may be a step down, more normal materials. http://www.skirtcafe.org/forums/viewtop ... 83#p263383

3. If I am going anywhere with my daughter, I think about my outfit and maybe check with her. To be fair she is so supportive and I have been out to Spoons with her while wearing a latex skirt. http://www.skirtcafe.org/forums/viewtop ... 39#p257539

4. Going out with Mrs Mouse. Again I will think about my outfit and check with her. Again she is very supportive and I have been out with her while wearing heels and a leather skirt. http://www.skirtcafe.org/forums/viewtop ... 13#p264013

5. Going to visit my mother and brother. No short skirts, No heels. Toned down skirts or kilts. Having said that, I did wear more fun skirts on the family holiday and when I visited at Christmas in my grey skirt, I was criticised for my dowdy look by my brother. This is a moving level which is not set in stone and is gently moving in the more fun direction. http://www.skirtcafe.org/forums/viewtop ... 32#p257132

6. Work. Kilts and working skirts, all to have good pockets. My top is work uniform, T-Shirt and Fleece. Bottom is one of 5 skirts, at the moment. Range of shoes and boots depending on which clients I am going to visit. PPE boots or not depending on site requirements. http://www.skirtcafe.org/forums/viewtop ... 33#p257133

I have a sliding scale of skirts from a black Stumpdown kilt to a bright short orange latex skirt with petticoat. But these are some of my working boxes that I map my outfits to.

Most of this, like our fears, is all in my head, but this is how I think. I am so happy with my skirting life at the moment, that part of me is still in disbelief at how I live.

I have opposing factions in my brain. One wishing to push the boat out as far as possible, as quickly as possible, before I get too old and keel over. The other is telling me to stick with what I have and enjoy it. Obviously the first was in control with the pink skirt order the other night. :) :) :)
